TV Special
Description
Botan Ichige is the protagonist of this story, a first-year middle school student who has just enrolled at the St. Asmaria All-Girls School. Her primary motivation is a deeply romantic and idealistic dream: to one day hold a tea party with real angelic girls, a wish that prompted her to attend this particular academy where angels are rumored to live. In terms of personality, Botan is characterized as a sensible and grounded individual, often serving as the most rational person amidst the increasingly bizarre events unfolding around her. She is a romantic at heart who idealizes a pure and clean maiden's life, which makes her new reality particularly distressing.
Botan's role in the story begins when she and her best friend, Shinobu Itoko, encounter a strange, self-proclaimed angel named Un. After Un offers her halo for them to eat, Botan consumes it and develops a peculiar and involuntary condition: she must now regularly conceive and give birth to colorful, mushroom-shaped objects known as Angel Eggs. This condition is a significant deviation from her ideal school life, as it forces her into embarrassing and lewd situations. However, Un provides a clear goal, revealing that if Botan can lay one hundred thousand of these eggs, her dream of a tea party with angels will finally come true. This quest becomes the central driver of her chaotic school days.
Regarding her key relationships, Botan is often seen alongside her close friend Shinobu, who shares her predicament. Her life is completely upended by Un, the enigmatic angel whose actions trigger everything that follows. Within the school, she also interacts with other classmates, such as the extremely shy and easily flustered Kitamakura Hibachi.
Throughout the narrative, Botan's development is largely about coping with her new reality. She struggles to adapt to a life that is the complete opposite of the pure existence she had envisioned, often finding herself dragged into strange and surreal circumstances by those around her. Her notable ability, if it can be called that, is the involuntary production of Angel Eggs, which she must lay to achieve her goal. This process is directly tied to a side effect of consuming Un's halo, which is also described as causing her to have accidents from the Un Gate. Physically, Botan has been described as having pink eyes and purple hair that reaches her shoulders.
