TV-Series
Description
Miyabi Itou is a student at Suzaku High School and a member of the Supernatural Studies Club. She is easily recognized by her short, dark maroon hair cut to neck length, with square bangs swept to the left side, and yellow eyes. She is noticeably shorter than most of her female classmates.
Miyabi is defined by her intense and genuine passion for the supernatural. She eagerly believes in phenomena like psychic powers, UFOs, and spoon bending, and she has a lively, emotive personality that matches her intense curiosity. Despite being an attractive and generally cheerful girl, her obsession with the occult causes many of her peers to regard her as a fraud or a liar, and as a result, she has very few friends at the start of the story. This isolation is her primary motivation for seeking out the Supernatural Studies Club, where she hopes to find people who will accept her interests.
When she first learns that Ryu Yamada and Urara Shiraishi have a body-swapping ability activated by a kiss, she feels deceived and initially reacts by spreading the secret around the school. However, after the truth about the witches is explained to her, she forgives them and officially joins the club. This marks a turning point in her life, as she finally finds the companionship she has been searching for. Though she is generally easygoing and naive, she can also be quarrelsome and lose her temper when provoked.
Miyabi does not possess any witch powers of her own, but she plays a vital role in the Supernatural Studies Club as its most enthusiastic member. Her knowledge of the occult and her willingness to chase after any lead often propel the group into new discoveries and unexpected situations. She also serves as a grounding presence for the club's more powerful members, providing emotional support and comic relief through her earnest but sometimes misguided attempts to prove the existence of the paranormal.
Her key relationship is with the club's core members: Ryu Yamada, Urara Shiraishi, and Toranosuke Miyamura. She looks up to them and is protective of the group's dynamic. Over the course of the story, her social isolation fades as she builds genuine friendships within the club, and she develops into a more confident and socially connected person. In the epilogue, set years later, she becomes a teacher at Suzaku High, indicating that she has matured into a responsible adult while still maintaining her love for the supernatural.
