Description
Halimede is a character from the second season of the anime Saint Seiya Omega, where he serves as an antagonist belonging to the army of the goddess Pallas. He holds the rank of a Tertiary Pallasite, also known as a third-class warrior within this hierarchy. His design and name are derived from Halimede, a moon of the planet Neptune, which is consistent with the naming scheme for many of his comrades.

Physically, Halimede is depicted as a tall man with brown skin and brown hair that reaches his neck, and his eyes are orange in color. His armor is known as a Chrono Tector, which, like other Pallasites, grants him the inherent ability to use Chrono Delayed. This power allows him to stop time for those with a weaker cosmos, causing them to appear petrified or frozen in place. His signature weapon is a three-section staff known as the Triple Rod, which he wields proficiently for both close-quarters combat and ranged attacks. Later in the series, he receives an upgraded weapon from the Pallasite leader Titan, a new three-section staff called the Phantom Eater, which is said to possess power rivaling that of a second-class Pallasite's weapon.

In terms of personality, Halimede is portrayed as a quintessential antagonist driven by arrogance and a ruthless desire for power. He is extremely confident, to the point of being boastful, and holds a philosophy that strength in combat is the only thing that matters. He openly dismisses and mocks emotions, familial bonds, and kindness, believing them to be weaknesses that hinder a warrior's path to becoming stronger. This is demonstrated when he taunts the Dragon Saint Ryuho for protecting his mother, Shunrei. Furthermore, Halimede is shown to be dishonorable and deceptive, frequently resorting to underhanded tactics to achieve victory. For example, he takes advantage of the pacifism of the Andromeda Saint, Shun, by falsely surrendering before attacking, and he cruelly manipulates a young boy's love for his frozen brother to steal a Cloth Stone.

Halimede's role in the story is that of a recurring minor antagonist who serves as an obstacle for the Bronze Saints to overcome, often acting as a measure of their growth. He is first introduced in an attack on Rozan, the training ground of the Dragon Saint, where he assaults Ryuho before the young saint can awaken his New Cloth. During this encounter, he recklessly attacks the defenseless Shunrei to provoke Ryuho, but is ultimately defeated and forced to retreat once Ryuho's power awakens. He later appears at a village where he has frozen its inhabitants, coming into conflict with the legendary Bronze Saint, Shun. Using the frozen villagers as leverage, he tricks a boy named Ray into stealing Shun's Cloth Stone. However, after Shun's faith in the boy inspires him to return the stone, Shun awakens his own New Cloth and easily defeats Halimede, destroying his Triple Rod in the process. His final role is as a defender of the Pallasite stronghold, Pallas Velda. Having received the more powerful Phantom Eater from Titan, he intercepts the Saints Raki, Kouga, and Subaru. In this final battle, his overconfidence is his undoing once more. The young saint Subaru finally fully awakens the power of the Equuleus Cloth, and with his new power, Subaru effortlessly overpowers and kills Halimede, ending his life permanently.

Key relationships in Halimede's story are primarily adversarial. His most significant rival is Ryuho, the Dragon Saint, who he fails to kill and who humiliates him in their first battle. He also crosses paths with Shun of Andromeda, whose mercy he exploits but whose power he cannot overcome. He serves under the higher-ranked Pallasites, particularly Titan, who provides him with an upgraded weapon to further the army's goals. His development is less about personal redemption or change and more about a continuous escalation of his own cunning and power, which is ultimately thwarted by the proportional growth of the Saints he underestimates. His notable abilities include a variety of combat techniques utilizing his three-section staff, such as Flare Shoot and Triple Disaster, and his Pallasite-given power, Chrono Delayed.
