Description
Aquila Yuna is a central character and a Bronze Saint who serves Athena, guarding the constellation Aquila. She is a young woman of Russian origin, standing 165 centimeters tall with a birthday of June 18th. At the start of her journey, she is thirteen years old. Her chosen element is Wind, which heavily influences her combat style and techniques.

Yuna's early life was marked by tragedy, as she lost her parents and her home to the devastation of war. For a time, she survived alone, resorting to stealing food. During one such incident, after being caught taking bread, she encountered Pavlin of Peacock, a Silver Saint who took her in and became her mentor. Under Pavlin's guidance, Yuna chose the path of a Saint, training rigorously before eventually enrolling in Palaestra, the training academy for Saints, where she continued to hone her skills.

In terms of personality, Yuna is known for her mature, disciplined, and highly intelligent nature. She is one of the most knowledgeable and tactically minded among her peers, often offering sound advice in the heat of battle. She has a particular fondness for reading, especially books on astronomy, and has cultivated a unique ability to read the stars. This skill allows her to perceive the will of the cosmos, foresee certain events, and even sense the well-being of Athena herself from a great distance. Beneath her composed exterior, Yuna is deeply affectionate, caring, and fiercely protective of her friends, showing great empathy and gentleness, particularly towards those who have suffered as she once did.

A defining aspect of Yuna's character is her personal struggle against the ancient law of the female Saints, which mandates that they wear masks to hide their faces from men. The rule dictates that any man who sees a female Saint's face must either be killed or become the one she loves. Yuna finds this law absurd and deeply resents having to conceal her identity. Her internal conflict comes to a head during a battle against a fellow student, Spear of Dorado. With the encouragement of her friend Kouga of Pegasus, she finds the strength to defeat her opponent, and in the process, her mask is shattered. Facing Spear, who has now seen her face, she rejects the archaic tradition entirely, declaring that she will neither kill him nor love him, thereby forging her own path as a Saint. From this point forward, she bravely fights without a mask, becoming a symbol of change.

Her role in the story is that of a primary protagonist and a steadfast ally to the other Bronze Saints. After Palaestra is invaded by the dark forces of Mars, Yuna joins forces with Kouga, Souma of Lionet, Ryuho of Dragon, and Haruto of Wolf to resist the god of war and rescue the young maiden Aria. Yuna forms a particularly strong bond with Aria, initially acting as her guardian and protector before growing to see her as a dear sister. Her tactical mind and wind abilities often prove essential to the team's strategy, such as when she uses her power over air currents to facilitate escapes or navigate treacherous obstacles like the Wind Ruins.

Throughout the conflict, Yuna demonstrates significant development as a warrior. She is forced to confront her beloved mentor, Pavlin, who appears to have sided with Mars, though this is later revealed to be a test of Yuna's resolve. Her power grows considerably, and she achieves the ability to awaken the Seventh Sense, a profound level of awareness. In a pivotal battle against Schiller of Cancer, a Gold Saint, she unleashes her most powerful technique at the time, Aquila Shining Blast, to protect Kouga and secure a hard-won victory. This made her the first of the new generation of Bronze Saints to defeat a Gold Saint in direct combat. In the subsequent war against Pallas, she continues to evolve, eventually unlocking the divine Omega Cosmo alongside her comrades, which further transforms her Cloth and amplifies her abilities to even greater heights.

Yuna's notable abilities are primarily wind-based and focused on powerful kicks and aerial combat. With the wings of her Aquila Cloth, she can fly higher than any of her fellow Bronze Saints and maneuver with exceptional grace in the air. Her signature techniques include Divine Tornado and Blast Typhoon, where she dives at an opponent with a devastating, cyclone-like kick. Another technique, Aquila Spinning Predation, involves soaring into the heavens before delivering a spinning wind kick that strikes the enemy with a tremendous blast of air. Her ultimate technique, Aquila Shining Blast, channels her entire cosmos into a single, eagle-shaped kick of immense destructive force. Beyond combat, her unique ability to read the stars serves as a vital source of information and guidance for her team throughout their quest.
