Description
Mikoto Kiba is the main female protagonist of Triage X, a seventeen-year-old high school student who serves as Arashi Mikami’s partner both at Mochizuki Academy and within the covert vigilante organization known as Black Label. She was born into the Kiba family, a prominent yakuza household. Her older brother, Yuki Kiba, attempted to reform the family’s criminal operations from the inside, but his efforts led to his death in a staged motorcycle accident. Mikoto was critically injured in the same incident and was saved by the staff of Mochizuki General Hospital. Deeply affected by her brother’s loss and inspired by those who rescued her, she later became affiliated with Black Label, dedicating herself to fighting the corruption and criminality that had destroyed her family.

In her daily school life, Mikoto cultivates the image of a refined, composed, and cheerful rich girl, earning admiration from her classmates. In reality, she is short-tempered, blunt, and quick to use foul language, especially toward Arashi. Despite this, she is fiercely loyal and quick to help her close friends, such as Yuu Momokino and Hinako Kominato. During Black Label missions, her personality shifts to become markedly aggressive, confrontational, and more prone to profanity, though she remains focused and effective in the field. She displays tsundere-like tendencies in her interactions with younger members like Arashi and Oriha Nashida, alternating between affection and irritation, while maintaining a respectful and deferential demeanor toward senior figures such as Yuko Sagiri and Miki Tsurugi. Her motivations are rooted in a desire for justice and personal loss, driving her to eliminate threats that society’s laws cannot handle.

Mikoto plays a vital role as a member of Black Label’s elite unit, often acting as the field partner to Arashi. She is highly dutiful and follows orders without hesitation, though her fiery nature sometimes surfaces in high-pressure situations. Her courage was demonstrated when she risked her safety to save a friend from assault. Over the course of the story, she continues to grapple with the trauma of her brother’s death, which fuels her commitment to the organization and occasionally reveals moments of vulnerability.

Mikoto is an expert motorcyclist, having learned everything from her brother. Her primary motorcycle is the Suzuki GS1200SS nicknamed “Black Goose,” which she uses both for transportation and as a dynamic weapon in combat. She is also a skilled marksman, wielding a Smith & Wesson M627-5 revolver called the “Eight Ball”—an eight-shot.357 Magnum revolver equipped with a speed loader for faster reloads. Additional sources mention that she also uses a Smith & Wesson Governor Model revolver and a customized Ducati motorcycle. During missions, she forgoes a mask in favor of sunglasses and wears practical combat attire including a leather jacket, scarf, bloomers, and steel-reinforced boots. Her physical appearance includes hip-length silver-gray hair, golden eyes, and a lean, athletic build.
