Description
Hamusuke, also known as the Forest Wise King, is a giant magic beast originating from the southern part of the Great Forest of Tob. She is a female of the species, bearing a strong physical resemblance to an enormous Djungarian hamster. Her silvery-white fur is marked with six sigils that glow with magical power, and she possesses a scaly tail measuring approximately twenty meters in length that can move with the dexterity of a snake. It is estimated that her total level is slightly above thirty, placing her power considerably above that of most humans and adamantite-ranked adventurers in the New World.

Before her encounter with Ainz, Hamusuke lived a solitary life for what is believed to be at least two hundred years, dominating the southern expanse of the Tob Forest as the self-proclaimed Forest Wise King. She was known for her boastful and proud disposition, holding her own strength in high regard. She adopted the title after a group of adventurers trespassed on her territory; she killed most of them but allowed a single survivor to leave because he called her the Wise King of the Forest, a name she found impressive. Despite her significant power by local standards, her strength is considered low to middling within the hierarchy of Nazarick. Upon being effortlessly subdued by Ainz, who used his despair aura to paralyze her with fear, she immediately recognized his overwhelming superiority and swore fealty, addressing him as her lord. Her personality shifted from prideful to that of a loyal, eager-to-please subordinate who is acutely aware of her relatively low rank within Nazarick, though she remains somewhat lethargic and easily confused by complex plans.

Hamusuke's primary motivation is to serve her master and prove her usefulness to earn her keep within the Great Tomb. Another significant personal goal is to find a mate, as she considers it her sacred duty to continue the lineage of her species, having never encountered another of her kind. She is also remarkably neutral in her moral alignment, lacking the inherent malice toward humans that characterizes many of Nazarick's denizens.

In the story, Hamusuke serves as the mount and pet of the adventurer Momon, which is the public persona of Ainz. He gave her the name Hamusuke, which she accepted with great satisfaction. During their public activities in E-Rantel, she is ridden by Ainz and serves as a powerful symbol of the adventurer team Darkness's strength. After being brought into Nazarick, she joins as the most humble and lowest-ranking servant. She is later assigned to train in martial arts and combat techniques, often sparring with a Death Knight created by Ainz, whom she considers a training partner and has developed a friendly bond with, even sharing tea with the silent undead creature.

Her key relationship is with Ainz, to whom she is unfalteringly loyal. She also interacts with Narberal Gamma, her colleague in the adventuring team Darkness, who often treats her harshly but to whom Hamusuke acknowledges her inferiority. Within Nazarick, she has met and approves of Mare, and she is one of the few creatures unafraid of the pest controller Kyouhokou. She was initially terrified of Albedo after witnessing her kill adventurers, but accepted her as a superior. While Aura initially wanted to keep Hamusuke as a pet and still covets her soft fur, she accepted Ainz's ownership and has been friendly toward her.

Hamusuke undergoes notable development, transitioning from a wild, solitary beast into a disciplined servant of Nazarick. She begins training to fight as a warrior, successfully learning martial arts to the point where she can choose not to use her powerful magic in battle, as demonstrated when she defeated the intruder Erya Uzruth in the Great Tomb without relying on spells. Her power grew further with this achievement. To manage the secret of Ainz's true identity, she has been left in the Sorcerer Kingdom, and her public persona is deliberately shaped as a disloyal pet content with the benefits of her new home.

Her notable abilities include the use of multiple magic spells, possibly up to eight different ones, cast from the sigils on her fur. Among these spells are Blindness, which temporarily blinds a foe, and Charm Species, a fourth-tier spell she used for hunting in the forest. She is proficient in martial arts, having learned Slashing Strike, a powerful melee attack. Her twenty-meter tail is covered in scale-like armor, providing a durable and versatile combat option with an extended range. She is also entrusted with a sentient magical item called the Orb of Death, which she keeps in her cheek and which allows her to use necromantic spells to raise undead minions.
