TV-Series
Description
Lizzie Bareare is a pharmacist who previously operated in the city of E-Rantel and is the grandmother of Nfirea Bareare. She is considered the finest pharmacist in E-Rantel, renowned throughout the city for her expertise. Despite being an old woman, she remains mentally sharp and possesses a demanding, fastidious personality. Her intense gaze is known to unsettle others. Her knowledge extends to the makeup, properties, and lore of potions. Beyond her pharmaceutical skills, Lizzie is also a magic caster who has mastered up to the third tier of magic, though her main focus remains alchemy.
Her primary motivation is the well-being of her grandson, Nfirea. When Nfirea was kidnapped by the undead villain Zurrernorn, Lizzie was desperate to secure his rescue. She struck a deal with the adventurer Momon, who later revealed himself as the sorcerer Ainz Ooal Gown. In exchange for saving her grandson, she pledged her services and gave up everything she had. After Nfirea was rescued, she honored her agreement by moving to Carne Village and dedicating herself to potion production. Later, when Ainz decided that Nfirea should focus on his married life, Lizzie took over all potion creation work herself, ensuring the continued supply of high-quality potions for Nazarick's operations.
In terms of relationships, her bond with Nfirea is the most significant. She raised him and is deeply protective of him. She also develops a working relationship with Ainz (under his alias Momon), initially out of necessity and later as a loyal subordinate within his growing domain. Her interactions with other characters are limited but pragmatic. She shows little development beyond her role as a pharmacist and grandmother, though her decision to relocate and serve Ainz demonstrates her adaptability and commitment to her word. Notable abilities include her mastery of potion crafting, her knowledge of rare ingredients and formulas, and her third-tier magic, which is modest compared to the high-powered beings in the story but respectable by the standards of the New World. Her overall role in the narrative is that of a supporting character who provides essential alchemical resources to Ainz and serves as a bridge between the ordinary human world and the supernatural forces of Nazarick.
