Description
Lukrut Volve is a silver-ranked adventurer from the city of E-Rantel and serves as the ranger and scout of the adventurer party known as the Swords of Darkness. He has a youthful and cheerful appearance, with blonde hair and brown eyes that give him a lighthearted look. His body is thin, with long and skinny limbs that tend to remind people of a spider, and he typically wears leather armor. He carries a composite longbow as his primary weapon and also keeps a short sword for close combat.

Personality-wise, Lukrut is an overly cheerful and talkative young man who often jokes around even in dangerous situations. He has a frivolous and womanizing streak, frequently flirting with women he meets and not taking rejection too seriously. This side of him is most notably directed at Narberal Gamma, the magic caster traveling with the adventurer Momon. Lukrut falls in love with Narberal at first sight and repeatedly proposes to her, only to be rejected harshly each time. Despite his roguish attitude, he is a capable and composed ranger who can focus on serious matters when necessary, displaying a steady bow arm and an awareness of his surroundings that makes him an effective scout.

Lukrut's motivations are tied to his life as an adventurer. He seeks thrills and social connection, and he enjoys the camaraderie of his party. He does not appear to have grand ambitions, but he takes pride in his work as a scout and contributes meaningfully to his team's missions. His role in the story is relatively brief. As a member of the Swords of Darkness, he interacts closely with the main protagonist Ainz Ooal Gown, who is disguised as the adventurer Momon. Lukrut and his party befriend Momon and Nabe, offering to help them navigate E-Rantel and its guild. His lighthearted personality provides some comic relief, especially in his persistent but fruitless advances toward Narberal. He also participates in a large-scale rescue operation where he acts as a scout for the army, spotting a horde of giant chaos beasts and rushing back to warn the camp.

Key relationships include his party leader Peter Mauk, fellow members Dyne Woodwonder and Ninya, as well as his temporary allies Momon and Nabe. His dynamic with Nabe is particularly one-sided; his flirting seems to annoy her, but his relentless cheerfulness inadvertently prevents her sharp tongue from reflecting poorly on Momon, because her harsh words appear to be aimed only at Lukrut rather than at all humans. This spares Momon some reputational damage.

Development for Lukrut is cut short. He and the rest of the Swords of Darkness are lured into a trap by the corrupt priest Khajiit, who has been using adventurers as sacrifices. Lukrut is killed by the rogue adventurer Clementine, who murders him with brutal efficiency. His body is later reanimated as a zombie by Khajiit, and he is ultimately put to rest by Momon. His death serves as a key turning point in the story, demonstrating the lethal danger of the new world and underscoring the growing tension between Momon's human adventurer persona and the ruthless priorities of Nazarick.

In terms of notable abilities, Lukrut is a skilled archer and a competent ranger. He possesses good agility and perception, making him valuable for scouting ahead and providing ranged support. He can use his bow to inflict damage and is also known to use poisoned arrows. In some game-related material depicting him, he demonstrates abilities to poison or put enemies to sleep with his attacks, and he has an affinity for fighting insect-type foes. However, his overall combat power is modest by the standards of the Overlord world, and he is no match for high-level opponents like Clementine.
