ONA
Description
Lucien Renlen is one of the two primary protagonists of the story alongside Dark Schneider. He is a war orphan who was taken in and raised by the high priest Geo Noto Soto as a brother to Geo's daughter, Tia Noto Yoko. Fifteen years before the main events, after the legendary wizard Dark Schneider was defeated by the hero Lars, Geo sealed Dark Schneider's soul inside the infant Lucien's body. Since then, Lucien has grown into a kind-hearted, hardworking, and somewhat simple-minded boy who deeply cares for Yoko. His personality is gentle and earnest, in sharp contrast to the arrogant and lecherous Dark Schneider. Lucien's motivation is rooted in his protective love for Yoko and his desire to help his friends; he is often unaware of the full extent of his own importance. His role in the story is that of the vessel for Dark Schneider, allowing the wizard to manifest when Yoko awakens him with a kiss. At times, Lucien's consciousness can influence Dark Schneider's actions, creating a moral tension and occasionally softening the wizard's more violent impulses. His key relationship is with Yoko, whom he adores and sees as a beloved older sister figure, and with Dark Schneider, who shares his body and whose memories Lucien can access, granting him moments of profound wisdom and knowledge. Over the course of the narrative, Lucien develops a stronger sense of agency, and his pure heart often proves to be a crucial counterbalance to Dark Schneider's ruthlessness. Unlike Dark Schneider, Lucien possesses no inherent magical abilities, but his true strength lies in his empathy and unwavering loyalty, which earn him the trust of allies and occasionally enable him to resist or redirect Dark Schneider's will.
