TV-Series
Description
Professor Ichiroubei Hiiragi is a character in the anime Mon Colle Knights. He is the father of Rokuna Hiiragi, known as Rockna in the English version, and the husband of Naomi Loon. He is the founder of the Mon Colle Knights team and the sole head researcher of the Hiiragi Dimension Research Institute.

In terms of background, Hiiragi is a genius scientist and inventor who discovered the existence of Mon World, also called the Six Gate World, an otherdimensional realm filled with magical creatures and hidden treasures. He invented the means to travel to this world and made it his life's work to explore and understand it. As part of this effort, he recruits his daughter Rokuna and her classmate Mondo to accompany and protect him while he searches for six powerful items known as Mon Mon Items, which have the potential to connect Mon World with the human world.

His personality is that of an eccentric and somewhat mad scientist. He is highly intelligent and resourceful, yet he is frequently portrayed as scatterbrained and clumsy, often stumbling through his own laboratory and inventions. This apparent absent-mindedness masks a sharp and strategic mind, and his clumsiness sometimes serves to disguise his true intentions while he outmaneuvers those around him. He is deeply loyal to his friends and companions, and he holds a firm belief that science can prevail over magic.

His main motivation is tied to recognition and discovery. He wants the human world to learn about Mon World and hopes that his findings will earn him awards and fame. This ambition makes him intensely focused, and at times he proves more willing than his companions to bend rules and moral standards in pursuit of the items. His obsession with completing the collection drives much of the expedition's activity.

In the story, Hiiragi functions as the scientific backbone of the Mon Colle Knights. He equips the team with vehicles, weapons, and gadgets, including the Collejet and the Collecars, and supplies them with essential information and guidance during their missions. While he is not a frontline fighter, his inventions and knowledge are vital to the group's success. He also serves as a mentor-like figure to the younger members of the team. His primary antagonist is Prince Eccentro, known as Count Collection in the Japanese version, a rival after the same items who intends to use them to dominate both the human world and Mon World.

His key relationships center on his family and his team. He shares a close bond with his daughter Rokuna, and he works alongside Mondo as a trusted ally. His marriage to Naomi Loon is part of his family life, and his professional rivalry with Prince Eccentro shapes many of the conflicts in the series.

In terms of development, Hiiragi remains a consistent presence throughout the story, appearing in both the television series and the associated film. His role as the expedition's scientist, inventor, and coordinator stays central to the plot, and his dedication to his research and to the people traveling with him continues to define his character.

His notable abilities lie in his scientific expertise. He is a brilliant inventor capable of creating advanced technology for dimensional travel, vehicles, and combat support equipment. He possesses deep knowledge of Mon World, its creatures, and the artifacts sought by the team, and his logical and analytical approach to problems allows him to plan ahead and guide the others effectively.
