Description
Professor Ichiroubei Hiragi is the father of Rokuna Hiragi and the scientist responsible for the discovery of Mon World, the parallel dimension at the center of the anime. He is the founder of the Mon Colle Knights and serves as the sole head researcher of the Hiragi Dimension Research Institute, where he developed the means for humans to travel between the human world and Mon World. His inventions include a dimensional travel device called the Suttobi Dragon and a detector capable of locating monsters.
In personality, Hiragi is an eccentric and somewhat childish mad scientist. He is enthusiastic about his work to the point of obsession, often behaving in a silly and dramatic manner, which makes him one of the series' main sources of comedy. He is prone to self-pitying outbursts, such as lamenting that his daughter does not care about him, and he treats his work as a grand personal adventure.
