TV-Series
Description
Mint Ju, also known as Minto Aizawa and transforming as Mew Mint, is the second member of the Tokyo Mew Mew team to be introduced. She is a twelve-year-old girl who comes from an extremely wealthy family and lives in a large mansion. Her parents are frequently absent, leaving her largely in the care of her grandmother, and her older brother Seiji is often occupied with business matters, which contributes to a sense of isolation in her daily life. Her DNA has been merged with that of a blue lorikeet, granting her bird-like traits and abilities.

Initially, Mint presents herself as spoiled, snobbish, and self-centered, a demeanor shaped by her privileged upbringing. She is often mean, sarcastic, and lazy, particularly at Cafe Mew Mew where she frequently avoids work and calls drinking tea her daily ritual. She is rude to the team leader, Ichigo Momomiya, and initially refuses to consider her a friend even after they become teammates. However, this exterior is a form of emotional armor. Beneath the haughty surface, Mint is an empathetic and caring person who is easily hurt and deeply values her friends. Her motivations are rooted in a desire to protect those she cares about, especially her beloved pet dog, Mickey, and later her fellow Mew Mews. She grows to cherish the bonds she forms with the team, moving away from her initial loneliness.

Her role in the story is that of a supporting fighter and, at times, the group's reluctant second-in-command. She is frequently seen bickering with Ichigo but consistently shows up when it matters. Her deep admiration for the older and more aloof Zakuro Fujiwara is a defining trait; she idolizes Zakuro and often seeks her approval, which influences her decisions. This admiration is part of what pushes her to grow and accept her responsibilities. Mint's relationship with Ichigo evolves from outright disdain to a grudging but genuine friendship, and she learns to rely on and trust her other teammates, Lettuce and Pudding, as well.

Significant development occurs throughout the series as her selfishness gives way to selflessness. She confronts her own fears and insecurities, such as in an episode where she nearly quits the team but is inspired to continue by Zakuro and her dog. By the end of the series, she has matured considerably, no longer a spoiled rich girl but a loyal and reliable friend who has learned to value her connections over her pride.

As Mew Mint, her notable abilities are tied to her winged animal DNA. Her primary weapon is the Mint Tone Arrow, which she uses to perform her signature attack, Ribbon Mint Echo. She is also trained in ballet, which is reflected in her elegant transformation sequence and fighting style. Later, she gains the Mew Aqua Rod, which allows her to use the attack Ribbon Aqua Drops, a purifying water-based technique. Her heightened agility and sense of grace, combined with her bird-like powers, make her an agile and effective combatant.
