TV-Series
Description
Corina, known in the original Japanese version as Mint Aizawa, is one of the main heroines and the second member to be introduced. She is a young girl who comes from an extremely wealthy family, living in a large mansion, and is the heiress to a significant fortune. Her life of privilege, however, is marked by loneliness, as her parents are almost always absent due to their work and do not attend her important ballet competitions. This lack of parental presence leads her to spend most of her time with her grandmother and her small pet dog, Miki. She also has an older brother, but he is often preoccupied with his studies, and the two grew distant as they got older.

Initially, Corina presents a persona that is snobbish, spoiled, and self-centered, traits largely a result of her wealth and isolation. She can come across as arrogant and dismissive, often slacking off from her duties at the Cafe Mew Mew under the pretense of having tea or performing taste tests. Despite this seemingly confident and haughty exterior, she is deeply afraid of being hurt emotionally, which is the root of her reluctance to fully commit to the Mew Mew team at one point in the story. Beneath this facade, however, she is an empathetic person who harbors a deep desire for genuine friendship and connection. Her motivations are largely driven by a need to protect the people and things she comes to care about, with her dog Miki being a powerful emotional anchor. She is also a highly skilled and passionate ballet dancer, having become a prima ballerina at a very young age, and this discipline heavily influences her fighting style.

In the narrative, Corina serves as a core member of the team of heroines. She is the second to be awakened to her powers, which occurs when a monster created from her beloved pet attacks her. Despite her initial reluctance to befriend the protagonist, she eventually joins the team and works at the Cafe Mew Mew, which operates as their base of operations. Her most significant relationship is with Renee, the fourth member of the team, whom she idolizes completely. Corina views Renee as a big sister and is devastated when Renee initially refuses to join the team, clinging to her in a desperate plea. This adoration serves as a key motivator for her. Her other key relationships are with her teammates, including the protagonist Zoey, with whom she has a bickering but ultimately respectful dynamic, and her teammates Bridget and Kikki.

Throughout the series, Corina undergoes noticeable development. She begins as a lonely, guarded girl who rejects friendship, but she gradually learns to trust and value her teammates as true friends. A pivotal moment in her development occurs when she tries to quit the team out of fear of being hurt, but Renee forces her to confront her feelings and acknowledge that being afraid is not a valid excuse to give up on protecting what matters to her. By the end, she has grown into a more open and team-oriented individual, even as she retains some of her haughty mannerisms and her love for teasing her fellow teammates.

As a Mew Mew, Corina's DNA is merged with the ultramarine lorikeet, a type of bird. This grants her several notable abilities. Upon transforming, she sprouts a pair of blue bird wings and a tail, which allow her to fly. In the anime, she also gains the ability to communicate with birds. Her ballet training is integral to her combat style, incorporating elegant and precise dance movements into her attacks. Her primary weapon is the Mint Arrow, which she uses to perform her signature attack, Ribbon Mint Echo. In the English adaptation, this weapon is renamed the Heart Arrow. Her physical appearance also changes when she transforms; her normally dark blue or black hair tied in buns becomes a lighter shade of blue, and her eyes change from brown to blue. Her Mew Mark, a symbol representing her powers, is shaped like a pair of bird wings and is located on her back.
