Description
Laia Einburg is a supporting character in the 1997 anime film Slayers Great. She is a young woman with long red hair often styled in braids and brown eyes. She is the daughter of Galia Einburg, a highly skilled and once-renowned golem maker, and the sister of Huey, an ambitious apprentice golem maker who has very different ideas from his father about how golems should be designed.

Laia is a practical and hardworking person, as she is the only member of her family who holds a regular job. She is often seen lamenting her ill fortune, which stems from the long-standing creative and personal feud between her father and her brother. Her primary motivation throughout the film is to see this feud come to an end, so that her family can live in peace. She is not a combatant or a magic user and has no notable magical or physical abilities of her own; her role is that of an ordinary civilian caught up in extraordinary events.

Laia's story begins when she is rescued by the wandering sorceresses Lina Inverse and Naga the Serpent from a rampaging golem. Feeling compelled to repay them, she brings the pair to her family's workshop. This act inadvertently sets the main plot of the film in motion, as Galia and Huey each take a liking to one of the sorceresses and decide to use them as models for new remote-controlled golems for an upcoming competition. Laia's relationship with her father is one of concern and respect, and with her brother she shares a sibling bond complicated by the family conflict. She does not undergo significant personal growth over the course of the movie, but she is present when Galia and Huey ultimately reconcile their differences at the conclusion of the story, implying that her wish for family harmony is fulfilled.
