TV-Series
Description
Almyce is a character from the third television series, Slayers Try, serving as one of its primary antagonists. He is a tall, imposing figure who hails from another dimension known as the Overworld, and is often described as a giant. His physical appearance is marked by white hair that reaches his chest and red eyes, and he is frequently seen wearing armor. A notable scar further contributes to his formidable presence.

The primary motivation driving Almyce is to summon a powerful demonic entity known as Darkstar, also referred to as the Black Star or Dugradigdo. His plan involves gathering five legendary weapons that were created by this dark lord. These weapons include the Sword of Light, which is initially in the possession of the protagonist Gourry Gabriev. Almyce believes that by collecting all five, he can bring Darkstar into his world. His ultimate goal is not to unleash the entity's full power, but to split that power into multiple pieces, thereby weakening it so he can control or contain it.

Within the story of Slayers Try, Almyce plays the role of a major antagonist whose agenda runs parallel to and eventually conflicts with that of another villain, Valgaav. While both characters seek the same weapons, their intentions are different. Almyce is focused on his scheme to bind and control Darkstar, whereas Valgaav has his own personal reasons for pursuing the dark lord's power. Their rivalry over the artifacts is a central conflict, culminating in Valgaav stealing both the Sword of Light and another weapon, the Ragud Mezeguis, from Almyce to advance his own plan.

Almyce’s key relationships are largely adversarial. He is an enemy of the main group, including the sorceress Lina Inverse and her companions, as he directly opposes their mission to prevent the disaster he is trying to unleash. His most significant relationship is with Valgaav, who begins as an ally but ultimately betrays him to seize the weapons for himself. This betrayal leads directly to Almyce's demise; after Valgaav successfully summons Darkstar, Almyce is later eliminated by another character named Erulogos. His role in the narrative is ultimately to be a pawn in the larger scheme, as his plan is co-opted by a more powerful force, leading to his death without achieving his goal.

In terms of abilities, Almyce is presented as a being of considerable power, able to travel between dimensions and pose a serious threat to the protagonists. His primary strength seems to lie in his knowledge of the ancient weapons and the ritual to summon Darkstar, rather than in any unique magical or combat skill displayed. His quest to control a dark lord demonstrates a high level of ambition and magical understanding, but he is ultimately outmaneuvered and overpowered by his rivals.
