Taiyou Akane is the Owl Knight of the Beast Knights, partnered with the cynical owl familiar Loki Helios. Approximately twelve years old with blue hair and blue eyes, he is often seen wearing a hoodie. His name "Taiyou" means "solar" or "Sun," while "Akane" translates to "deep red" or "dye from the rubia plant."

His withdrawn and emotionally distant personality stems from a background of domestic strife, including neglect by his father and a strained relationship with his stepmother. Early in the conflict against the Mage Animus, Taiyou is branded a traitor, aligning with the enemy as foreshadowed by Ludo's dying warning. His betrayal arises from disillusionment with the endless conflict and his personal suffering, coupled with disdain for both the Beast Knights and Animus.

Taiyou wields the Domain Control ability "Mixture Field: Pandora," manipulating time within a localized area to revert objects or organisms to previous states. This destroys constructs or heals injuries by reversing damage. After joining Animus as the Furesberg Knight, his power evolves into "Lucid Flow of Time and Space," significantly expanding its range and potency. This advanced form allows instantaneous restoration of allies' health and stamina in combat, though it rapidly depletes his own energy.

A firsthand experience with death during battle catalyzes a shift in Taiyou's perspective. He ultimately defects from Animus, performing a Heel–Face Turn in the final battle. Using his contractual wish as a Beast Knight, he chooses to retain the augmented powers granted by Animus. This decision proves critical; his "Lucid Flow" ability sustains the other knights during their confrontation with Samidare and the Mage, enabling victory.

In the Distant Finale, Taiyou becomes a doctor, applying his time-manipulation abilities to heal patients, reflecting his redemption and commitment to repairing lives.
