Description
Amane Kaunaq began her career as the galaxy's foremost supermodel, representing her family's leading fashion house. Feeling disillusioned and burned out, and wanting to prove herself on her own merits rather than relying on her family’s powerful name, she left modeling to join the Galaxy Police. Her decision fractured her relationship with her tradition-bound father, who continued to hope she would return to the family business. As an officer, she rose through the ranks and earned the nickname "the Zero Goddess" for her remarkable ability to avoid encounters with space pirates during patrols. Her path changed when her spacecraft crashed into a lake near Tenchi Masaki's home on Earth, where she nearly drowned a local boy named Seina Yamada. After reviving him, she mistakenly gave him an application to the Galaxy Police Academy, violating regulations against recruiting from underdeveloped planets. As a result, her promotion was put on hold, and she was reassigned as an instructor at the academy alongside Kiriko Masaki. Amane later lived with Seina during his training, developed genuine romantic feelings for him, and became a key member of his crew, serving as tactical officer and gunner aboard the ships Kamidake and Kamidake II. She is a skilled pilot and an exceptional marksman, capable of manually firing weapons with high accuracy. Her personality is forthright and outspoken, and she can be physically expressive of her displeasure, particularly toward Seiryo Tennan, a childhood acquaintance whose persistent romantic advances she deeply resents. Eventually, Amane was included in a political marriage with Seina, alongside Kiriko, Ryoko Balta, and Neju Na Melmas. She briefly returned to modeling for a Galaxy Police fashion show, where a live-fire demonstration of her skills finally convinced her father to acknowledge her abilities as an officer, even if he still wished for her return to the family business.
