Feeling disillusioned and burned out, and wanting to prove herself on her own merits rather than relying on her family’s powerful name, she left modeling to join the Galaxy Police. Her decision fractured her relationship with her tradition-bound father, who continued to hope she would return to the family business. As an officer, she rose through the ranks and earned the nickname "the Zero Goddess" for her remarkable ability to avoid encounters with space pirates during patrols. Her path changed when her spacecraft crashed into a lake near Tenchi Masaki's home on Earth, where she nearly drowned a local boy named Seina Yamada. After reviving him, she mistakenly gave him an application to the Galaxy Police Academy, violating regulations against recruiting from underdeveloped planets.
