TV-Series
Description
Goura is an elderly human man who serves as a major antagonist within the Karuma arc of the anime. His appearance is distinguished by his advanced age, featuring grey hair, a matching beard, and black eyes. He typically wears a priest's robe along with a hat and a necklace, and his shoulders are adorned with horn-like attachments. His attire is notably more detailed and ornate compared to the plainer robes worn by his ally, Karuma.

In terms of personality, Goura presents himself as a wise and composed individual, carrying himself with a seasoned and calm demeanor that is difficult to fully discern. However, this outward loyalty to his master is a facade, as he harbors deep-seated treachery. He is ultimately a traitor who seeks to topple Karuma and take leadership of their group for himself. This hidden ambition drives him to attempt to assassinate Karuma while she rests, a plan that ultimately fails and reveals his true disloyal nature.

Goura holds the position of Karuma's most experienced servant. His primary role in the story is as an antagonist, often clashing with Guren, a fellow servant, over who is superior. These two frequently engage in arguments that require intervention from Karuma and another servant, Anju, to de-escalate. His motivation is a thirst for power and leadership, leading him to betray his master. His character does not undergo a redemption arc or positive development; instead, his treachery leads directly to his downfall. After his betrayal is exposed by Guren, Karuma executes him without hesitation.

Goura is a powerful magician whose notable abilities center on telekinesis. He uses this power to fling large rocks at his enemies and can even generate small earthquakes. In the video game adaptations, his abilities are expanded upon, showing he can also fire energy balls from his palms. In the Tenchi Meidou game, he frequently uses earth-based attacks, such as creating fissures that produce elemental spikes to rise from the ground. He is a character exclusive to the anime adaptation and the related video games, not appearing in the original manga story proper, though he has a cameo in the sketch sections of a manga volume. He appears as a boss character in the Super Famicom games Den Ei Rai Bu and Tenchi Meidou.
