Movie
Description
Myuu is a mythical Pokémon of the Psychic type that serves as the genetic origin for Mewtwo, the central figure of Pokémon: The First Movie. In the story, Myuu is the rare and elusive original creature from which a single eyelash was used by scientists to create the cloned Pokémon Mewtwo through genetic engineering. Myuu is first glimpsed in the jungles of South America, where it curiously observes human explorers but remains invisible to them, hinting at its elusive and playful nature.

Myuu's personality is best described as innocent, pure-hearted, and almost childlike. It displays a mischievous and carefree demeanor, often appearing to tease or play tricks on those around it rather than engaging in direct confrontation. This behavior is evident when it follows the members of Team Rocket into Mewtwo's island fortress, staying hidden and toying with them out of simple amusement. Myuu possesses a gentle and non-aggressive spirit; it does not seek conflict and prefers to avoid harm.

Its primary motivation in the film is not revenge or domination but rather a simple desire to observe and, when necessary, to intervene in the escalating conflict between Mewtwo and the world. Myuu represents the natural, unaltered state of being, standing in contrast to Mewtwo's artificial origin and existential anguish. It is drawn to the confrontation not out of anger but out of a sense of connection and responsibility toward the creature made from its own genetic material.

The role Myuu plays in the story is that of a catalyst for the climax and a counterbalance to Mewtwo's fury. It arrives at the battlefield in the midst of the fight between original and cloned Pokémon, and it directly engages Mewtwo. Rather than fighting with destructive force, Myuu proposes a contest of pure physical combat without special moves, arguing that in such a contest the original would not lose to the copy. This suggestion leads to the prolonged battle between the two, which ultimately ends when Satoshi intervenes and is turned to stone.

The key relationship in the film is between Myuu and Mewtwo. They are bound by origin as original and clone, yet they represent opposing philosophies. Mewtwo sees his existence as a curse and a source of hatred, while Myuu exists without such burden, embodying a natural and untainted life. Their conflict is not merely a physical fight but a symbolic struggle over the meaning of identity and the value of existence. Myuu does not seek to destroy Mewtwo but to force him to confront the emptiness of his rage.

Myuu undergoes little personal change over the course of the film, as it already exists in a state of harmony. However, it serves as the emotional and thematic mirror for Mewtwo's development. When Satoshi is petrified by the combined force of their attacks, Myuu observes the sorrow of the Pokémon and the eventual miracle of Satoshi's revival. In the end, it accompanies Mewtwo and the cloned Pokémon as they depart from the human world, signifying a quiet resolution and acceptance between the original and the copy.

In terms of notable abilities, Myuu demonstrates a range of psychic powers. It can fly and float at will, teleport across distances, render itself completely invisible, and create shimmering bubbles of psychic energy that can cushion falls or protect others. It also shows the capacity to communicate telepathically with Mewtwo. Beyond the film, Myuu is described as being able to learn any move and possessing the genetic code of all Pokémon, but within the context of the movie its displayed powers remain limited to those needed for its role as a calm and elusive presence.
