Lt. Burning, whose full name is South Burning, is a career officer in the Earth Federation Forces who plays a pivotal role as a mentor and combat leader during the events of Universal Century 0083. A veteran of the One Year War, Burning served with distinction as a mobile suit pilot and was part of the unit known as the Immortal 4th Team, which included pilots Bernard Monsha, Alpha A. Bate, and Chap Adel.
