Description
Ceylan Jones is one of the main protagonists of Tenkai Knights, a character whose outward energy and humor often mask a deeper, more uncertain side. He is a thirteen-year-old boy with distinctive blue hair and blue eyes, typically dressed in a white hooded sweatshirt beneath a blue denim jacket featuring an image of two gold wings on the back, paired with blue pants and dark brown boots. He often keeps green goggles on his head, hinting at his readiness for adventure.

In his everyday life, Ceylan is known for being friendly, goofy, and outgoing. He is a big practical joker, which is how he first befriends the series' main character by throwing a paper airplane at him on his first day at school. He has appointed himself the team's source of comedy and is a huge fan of lime parfait, a recurring detail that highlights his lighthearted nature. However, when not fooling around, Ceylan can be surprisingly cautious and is quick to point out when a situation does not feel right. Despite his cheerful exterior, he has a somewhat short temper and is very defensive when insulted. More significantly, he struggles with frequent self-doubt, feeling that his skills are not as valuable as those of his fellow Knights. This insecurity is a core part of his personality and a major driver of his personal journey.

Ceylan’s motivations are rooted in a desire to be a capable and valued member of his team. While he initially hesitates and even considers quitting due to the dangers of being a hero, he ultimately cannot abandon his friends when they are in danger. He is driven to prove his worth, not just to others, but to himself. His role in the story is as one of the four legendary Tenkai Knights. He possesses the core brick of Tributon, a warrior whose armor is themed after an eagle or falcon, reflecting the meaning of his Japanese family name. As Tributon, he describes himself as "Tenkai Speed" and serves as the team's sniper or archer, often fighting from a distance with precision. Later in the series, he unlocks an advanced form and goes by the name Tributon Tenkai Iceblast, wielding the power of ice.

His most significant relationship is with Guren Nash, the leader of the Knights. They become best friends quickly, and Ceylan is said to be the closest to Guren on the team. He also forms close bonds with the other Knights, Toxsa Dalton and Chooki Mason. His friendship with Toxsa is marked by good-natured competition and occasional arguing, while he sometimes feels a hint of jealousy towards Chooki's natural athletic skills. His relationship with Gen Inukai is more complex; initially wary of him, and later betrayed upon learning Gen is the evil Knight Dromus, Ceylan eventually accepts him as a friend and ally when Gen reforms.

Throughout the series, Ceylan undergoes noticeable development, primarily in overcoming his lack of confidence. In a pivotal episode, his self-doubt convinces him that the team would be better off without him, leading him to quit. However, when he sees a vision of his friends in peril, he rushes to their aid and saves them, restoring his faith in his own abilities. This arc demonstrates that his loyalty and courage ultimately outweigh his insecurities. He also grows in power, learning to master new transformations as he becomes more comfortable with his role.

As a Tenkai Knight, Ceylan possesses several notable abilities. His primary form is Tributon, where he is armed with a Tenkai Crossbow and Arrow Blaster as well as a shield. He is renowned for his speed and marksmanship. He is the second of the Knights to unlock Titan Mode, a transformation that enlarges him to twice his normal size and equips him with a powerful long bow blaster. Later, he achieves the ability to combine his power with Guren to perform a Titan Fusion. His ultimate evolution is unlocking Elemental Mode, becoming Tributon Tenkai Iceblast, which grants him command over the element of ice and further enhances his combat capabilities.
