Description
Kiro Mason is a minor character from the anime Tenkai Knights, known for being the younger cousin of one of the main protagonists, Chooki Mason. She is a young girl with a small stature, typically appearing to be around five or six years old. Kiro has blonde hair which she usually wears in pigtails, and green eyes. Her typical outfit consists of a pale yellow dress, and she is almost never seen without her beloved stuffed toy, a dog she has named Sandy.
In terms of personality, Kiro exhibits the typical traits of a child her age. She has a generally cheerful and playful demeanor, but can also be prone to becoming upset or angry when she does not get what she wants. Despite this occasional stubbornness, she has a kind nature, especially once she has come to trust someone. Her primary motivation is often simple, childlike desires for fun, attention, and the company of others, as her stuffed dog Sandy is noted to be her only regular playmate before she becomes more involved with the main group.
Kiro's primary role in the story is as a supporting character who often requires care and supervision from the older protagonists, creating situations that reveal their patience and kindness. In her first major appearance, Chooki asks his friends Guren, Ceylan, and Toxsa to babysit her while he attends a soccer game. During this time, a crisis occurs when her doll Sandy is affected by a process called brickification, causing her to become very distressed. When Ceylan attempts to fix the toy, Kiro takes his core brick, a vital item, and locks herself in the bathroom to keep it. She only comes out after Ceylan gives her a sincere speech about the value of belongings, after which she returns the brick and thanks him for fixing her doll.
Her key relationships are primarily with the main team of Tenkai Knights. She shares a family connection with Chooki, her cousin, who is responsible for her care on several occasions. She develops a particular fondness for Ceylan Jones, who is patient with her, plays games with her, and successfully resolves the conflict over her broken toy. This leads her to favor him over the others. She also forms a friendship with a character named Beni. Although they initially clash, as Beni is reluctant to play with her, Kiro persists and eventually wins Beni over by giving her a four-leaf clover and expressing a desire to be best friends. Through this relationship, Kiro helps facilitate a plot point by delivering the Tenkai Stone to Guren at Beni's request. She also has a brief interaction with a pet character named Max, trying to play with him roughly before being stopped.
Throughout her appearances, Kiro shows a small but noticeable development in her relationships. She moves from being a lonely child whose only companion is a stuffed animal to forming genuine bonds with several of the older characters. Her notable abilities are not combat-oriented but rather lie in her childlike traits: her ability to create chaotic situations through her emotional reactions, and her surprising effectiveness at resolving them through simple, earnest acts like offering a clover as a peace offering. Her name is derived from the Japanese word for yellow, which matches her color motif.
