TV-Series
Description
Brinox, known in some versions as Granox, is an antagonist and one of the primary Corrupted soldiers serving under the main villain Vilius. His armor design takes inspiration from a rhinoceros, reflecting his emphasis on brute strength and head-on assault. His typical appearance in his basic form features grey armor complemented by a white visor that conceals glowing green eyes, and he is equipped with a halberd and a shield designed for powerful, strength-based combat.
In terms of personality, Brinox is a mix of bold pride and underlying cowardice. He carries himself with a sense of confidence and a desire to prove his worth, yet he is deeply fearful of his master, Vilius. This fear fuels a constant need for approval, and he becomes envious when Vilius shows favoritism toward other subordinates, particularly Dromus. Brinox tends to follow Vilius's commands blindly, whether out of genuine loyalty or simple ignorance, and he becomes visibly angry and vengeful when the Tenkai Knights make him look foolish or defeat him, especially with techniques like Titan Fusion.
Brinox's primary motivation is to please Vilius and rise in his esteem. He is eager to crush the Tenkai Knights and often tries to impress his master, even if it means undertaking dangerous missions that frequently result in his own destruction. He is known to make rash decisions in battle, such as charging headlong into unfavorable situations, which demonstrates his aggressive but not always strategic nature.
Within the story, Brinox serves as a recurring field commander and enforcer for the Corrupted army. He is often partnered with Slyger, another of Vilius's top soldiers, and the two perform most of their missions together. Despite his subordinate position to Vilius, Brinox is sometimes shown to be higher in command than Slyger, making many of the important tactical decisions during their joint battles. He was the second Corrupted soldier sent to Earth by Vilius after Slyger. During his time on Earth, he took pleasure in tormenting the young hero Ceylan, showing a cruel and bullying side to his character. He is frequently referred to as "BucketHead" by the Tenkai Knights, a nickname that fuels his desire for revenge against them.
Key relationships define much of Brinox's role. His relationship with Vilius is one of fear and desperate sycophancy, as he constantly seeks to obey commands and achieve victory for his master. His partnership with Slyger is central to his actions, with the two functioning as a duo that complements each other's strengths and weaknesses. He also holds a jealous rivalry with Dromus, resenting the favor that Vilius shows to this other soldier. Against the Tenkai Knights, he is a persistent and vengeful enemy, always eager to battle them to restore his own pride and prove his value to Vilius.
Brinox undergoes limited but notable development, primarily defined by his consistent failures and his jealous reactions to others' successes. His fear of Vilius and his jealousy of Dromus remain core traits, showing that his insecurity is a fundamental part of his character. His development is less about personal growth and more about his escalating desperation to gain approval, which leads him to take increasingly reckless actions.
Regarding his notable abilities, Brinox possesses enhanced physical strength, which is his primary asset in combat. He is a proficient wielder of his halberd, using it effectively in conjunction with his shield. He has access to a Titan Mode, which grants him immense strength while retaining his proficiency with the halberd. When he travels to Earth, he assumes an Earth Form that replaces his melee weapons with cannons, yet still grants him immense physical power. On Quarton, he has also been known to ride beasts such as a war stallion or an ice rhino into battle.
