TV-Series
Description
Aura Senzia, known as Mieru Houchun in the original Japanese version, is a supporting character from the anime Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V. She is a young fortune teller and a student at the Unno Divination School, a background that deeply shapes her worldview and approach to dueling. Aura is recognizable by her fair skin, small stature, and long curly red hair tied with a purple ribbon. Her large bright-green eyes and a flowing purple dress complete her distinctive look, and she is almost always seen carrying a crystal apple, a tool she uses in her fortune-telling practices.

Personality-wise, Aura strongly believes that future events are predetermined by destiny, a conviction cultivated through her time as a fortune teller. This belief initially makes her confident in her predictions, but it also leads to dramatic and humorous situations, particularly regarding her romantic fantasies. She has a tendency to become infatuated with handsome men, to the point of getting nosebleeds just from imagining them. This trait is fully displayed when she predicts that she will meet her fated person; her excitement turns to disappointment when that person turns out to be the protagonist, Yuya Sakaki. However, after being defeated by him in a duel, she quickly falls for him, becoming his ardent and somewhat possessive admirer, much to the annoyance of Zuzu Boyle, who is Yuya's close friend and love interest. Aura's speech pattern is also notable, as she refers to herself in the third person, using her own name as a pronoun, a mannerism intended to convey cuteness in the original Japanese dialogue.

As a fortune teller, Aura possesses genuine supernatural abilities. She can predict future events, discerning good fortune or tragedy by using her duel monsters cards as tarot cards. She is also capable of locating specific individuals, having accurately pinpointed Yuya's location on more than one occasion using her crystal apple. In her role as a duelist, Aura uses a Prediction Princess deck, a strategy heavily focused on Flip Effects and Ritual Summoning. Her signature tactic involves a lockdown combination using Prediction Princess Petalelf, Prediction Princess Astromorrigan, and the Ritual Monster Prediction Princess Tarotrei, which can prevent opponents from attacking while destroying their monsters and inflicting effect damage.

Aura's role in the story is primarily that of a recurring supporting character and a comedic foil. She is first introduced as an opponent Yuya must face in a preliminary match for the Arc League Championship. During this duel, her ability to read Yuya's moves and predict his misfortune nearly leads to his defeat, but she is ultimately overcome when he creates the new monster Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon. This defeat marks the beginning of her infatuation, and she subsequently inserts herself into the group, considering herself a rival to Zuzu for Yuya's affection. Her key relationships are thus centered on Yuya, who is the object of her crush, and Zuzu, whom she sees as a love rival. Her feelings for Yuya are so strong that she later forfeits her match in the Arc League Championship upon learning that he is unconscious.

Over the course of the series, Aura's character shows a degree of development from a self-assured fortune teller to a more supportive figure. After falling for Yuya, she shifts from being a confident antagonist to a loyal, if often overbearing, ally. When Yuya enters a berserk state, she is the one who uses her crystal apple to look into his heart and discovers the presence of two additional souls within him, demonstrating her unique abilities in a serious context and showing her deep concern for his well-being. Throughout the Friendship Cup and subsequent story arcs, she remains a spectator and supporter, cheering for Yuya and his friends. By the end of the series, after the dimensions are reformed, she loses her memories of the interdimensional conflicts but is still seen as part of the community, watching duels and continuing her fortune-telling. Her notable abilities thus extend beyond dueling, as her genuine fortune-telling powers serve important plot functions, such as locating Yuya and providing insight into his fractured mental state.
