Description
Misuzu Gowa is the youngest child of the Gowa family, a powerful and influential Japanese household with deep ties to ancient traditions and modern military technology. As a fourteen-year-old girl, she is physically frail and suffers from an unspecified long-term illness that often confines her to bed rest within the family's oppressive ancestral mansion. This illness, along with her sheltered upbringing, has limited her contact with the outside world and left her dependent on the care of her relatives. Despite her delicate health, Misuzu possesses a quiet inner strength and an intuitive sense that her family is hiding dark secrets. Her closest emotional bonds are with her father and, most significantly, with her older brother Yushiro, who is only a few years older than she is. Their connection is unusually deep, and she is one of the few family members who treats him as a beloved brother rather than as a tool for the family's ambitions. As the story progresses, her growing unease about the family's true nature and Yushiro's role in it drives her to actively seek the truth. She becomes determined to break free from her isolated existence and understand what is really happening to her brother and to herself. Her involvement in the narrative becomes more direct when she follows Yushiro to the abandoned Gowa storehouse, where she encounters the strange and dangerous forces that have long been hidden within her lineage. Throughout the series, Misuzu represents an innocent yet resilient perspective, acting as a witness to the unfolding supernatural and political conflicts. She does not possess any combat abilities or pilot a Tactical Armor; her strength lies in her emotional clarity and her unwavering loyalty to Yushiro. Her development is marked by a transition from a passive, protected child into a young woman willing to face unsettling truths about her family's legacy. Her key relationships include her affectionate bond with Yushiro, a more distant and wary connection with her older brothers who view her as insignificant, and a brief alliance with the soldier Ataka, who helps her during her search. Her story ultimately centers on her quest for understanding in a world where her family's power is built on manipulation, ancient curses, and violence.
