Description
Bang, known by his hero name Croc d Argent, is a prominent character in One Punch Man. He is an 81-year-old martial arts master and the founder of the Dojo du Poing destructeur fluctuant. Within the Hero Association, he formerly held the prestigious rank of S-Class, position 3, before his retirement.

In his youth, Bang was a violent ruffian known as Vent Sanglant, or Blood Wind. He used the lethal Exploding Heart Release Fist for his own enjoyment, indiscriminately challenging strong opponents and often hospitalizing them, while also engaging in womanizing. This behavior created a rift with his older brother, Bomb, which culminated in a duel where Bomb defeated him, revealing the emptiness of his path. This loss prompted Bang to seal away the Exploding Heart Release Fist and develop a new, defensive style: the Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist. He established a dojo to teach this art and joined the Hero Association as a form of redemption, seeking to prove his reformation to his brother.

Bang possesses a wiry and muscular physique that defies his advanced age, covered in scars that hint at his violent past. He has swept-back white hair, a thick white mustache, and sharp gray-blue eyes. His typical attire consists of a simple black shirt and gray kimono-style pants, paired with black martial arts shoes. His demeanor is generally calm and wise; for instance, he remained completely unperturbed while facing an impending meteor strike, accepting his fate with a sense of detached amusement. However, he can display fierce intensity during combat, especially when angered. A recurring mannerism is standing with both arms behind his back.

Bang is deeply respected within the Hero Association for his integrity and experience. He is a traditionalist who values his dojo above all else, once stating he would prefer to die with it rather than abandon it. He expresses disappointment in the Association for deviating from its original ideals. His most significant and complex relationship is with his former top disciple, Garou. Bang is haunted by Garou's descent into becoming a monster hunter and eventually a monster himself, blaming himself for failing to guide him properly. Recognizing his own past darkness reflected in Garou, Bang volunteers to stop him personally, hoping to prevent Garou's death at the hands of other heroes. After defeating Garou, Bang retires from hero work to dedicate himself entirely to Garou's rehabilitation, seeking a fresh start as master and disciple. He also has a great admiration for Saitama, openly stating that Saitama surpasses him and all other fighters he has ever encountered, and once attempted to recruit him and Genos into his dojo. Despite his wisdom, Bang can sometimes act contrary to his own teachings, such as hoarding food for himself during a shared meal.

Bang's mastery lies in his creation and perfection of the Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist, an ultimate defensive art that redirects an opponent's force. This technique allows for automatic evasion in danger, nullifies attacks, and channels energy like tidal flows. His analytical prediction enables him to anticipate and counter opponents' moves with precision, including striking pressure points. He retains the knowledge of the lethal Exploding Heart Release Fist, which explosively amplifies physical capabilities by synchronizing heart pulses with strikes, but he avoids using it. His signature technique, developed with his brother Bomb, is the Roaring Aura Sky Ripping Fist. This combined attack generates internal shockwaves capable of shattering even the most durable defenses, such as the carapace of the monster Elder Centipede. He also employs Awakening Breath, a body-control technique that forcibly draws out his maximum physical potential for short bursts, significantly enhancing his speed and striking power.

During the Alien Conquerors arc, Bang demonstrated his skill by deflecting debris from a destroyed meteor and injuring the alien warrior Melzargard. In the Monster Association arc, he confronted a transformed Garou, showcasing superior combat speed and technique to subdue his former disciple despite Garou's enhanced abilities. Later, healed by Fubuki, he defeated the monster Fuhrer Ugly and contributed to battles against other powerful monsters alongside his brother. His final major confrontation involved clashing evenly with an unconscious Garou, cracking his monstrous shell with a finishing blow. These events solidified his decision to retire from the Hero Association, concluding his career to focus solely on mentoring Garou.
