He is one of the more unusual heroes in the organization because he is also a convicted criminal serving time at Smelly Lid Prison. Despite his incarceration, he is allowed to operate as a hero because of his immense physical strength and his usefulness in responding to major monster threats. In practice, he repeatedly breaks out of prison to join large-scale battles and returns on his own afterward.
