TV-Series
Description
Lui is a street dancer from the Suwa region who appears as a supporting character in Tribe Cool Crew. He performs as one half of a dance duo alongside his partner Moe. The pair are known for their flamboyant attitude and strong attachment to their own team color, which they call Suwa Blue. They take great pride in their appearance and frequently declare their intention to dye the entire world in their color. Their signature dance style is called Suwa-kyou SWAG, and they have a trademark footwork sequence known as the RuiRui Step that can even trace letters on the ground. Lui's primary motivation is to become famous and wealthy, with the ultimate goal of surpassing the iconic dancer Jey El and becoming the new face of dance. He is also driven by a desire to achieve recognition and financial success, often speaking about becoming a millionaire. In the story, Lui and Moe first encounter the main characters Haneru and Kanon during a road trip to Lake Suwa, where they rescue the pair from a group of delinquents. Later, they are recruited by the antagonist Gallagher and are introduced to a forbidden dance known as Cloud High, which grants immense power but gradually damages the dancer's body. Under its influence, Lui becomes arrogant and dismissive of others. However, during a dance battle with Kumonosuke and Mizuki, the physical strain becomes too much and he collapses. This experience leads him to realize the error of his ways, and he returns to his original, more grounded self. After this turning point, Lui and Moe reform their team and add the prefix New to their group name. Lui's relationship with Moe is central to his identity, as the two function as a tightly knit pair with a shared vision. He also develops a more respectful dynamic with the main Tribe Cool Crew members following his redemption. His notable abilities include the Suwa-kyou SWAG dance routine, the precise RuiRui Step, and later the dangerous Cloud High technique, which he ultimately forgoes.
