Description
Qwenthur Barbotage is the central protagonist of Heavy Object. He is a seventeen-year-old civilian student from the Legitimacy Kingdom who joins a battlefield dispatch study program with the goal of becoming a designer of Objects, the enormous war machines that dominate combat in the series. Unlike most of the soldiers around him, he comes from an ordinary, non-elite background and has no special combat training. He is assigned to the 37th Mobile Maintenance Battalion at an Alaskan base as an engineer and trainee mechanic, where he studies the construction and operation of multi-purpose Heavy Objects.
In personality, Qwenthur is an intellectual and a tinkerer. He approaches the overwhelming power of Objects not with fear but with curiosity, treating every enemy machine as a puzzle to be solved. He is observant, analytical, and quick to theorize, often working out the structural weaknesses and operational logic of an Object from the ground while other soldiers see only an invincible weapon.
