Description
Shihono Kobayashi is a high school student and member of her school's broadcasting club, where she serves as the color commentator during activities. She possesses brown hair and green eyes, presenting as energetic and enthusiastic about her interests. Her family includes an accomplished older sister, Chiyono Kobayashi, who excels academically and socially. This dynamic leaves Shihono feeling overshadowed, fostering underlying insecurities about her own worth.

She exhibits a passionate fixation on the otome game "Love Me Magically!" (also called "Magikoi"), particularly its character Lieselotte Riefenstahl, whom she perceives as a tragic, misunderstood tsundere villainess rather than purely evil. This fixation stems from identifying with Lieselotte’s struggles with communication and perceived inadequacy, viewing the character’s inevitable tragic fate across all game routes as deeply unjust. To alter this fate, she recruits classmate Aoto Endo into the broadcasting club, persuading him to play the game collaboratively under the premise that live commentary would improve his club skills. Their commentary sessions unexpectedly enable communication with the game’s prince, Siegwald Fitzenhagen, who interprets their voices as divine guidance.

Within the commentary dynamic, Shihono acts as the analyst, leveraging her comprehensive knowledge of the game’s lore, routes, and mechanics to provide context and strategy, contrasting with Endo’s layman perspective. Her primary objective is guiding Siegwald to recognize Lieselotte’s true feelings and prevent her possession and death, shifting the game’s focus from the heroine Fiene’s romances to securing Lieselotte’s survival and happiness. She demonstrates strategic thinking by balancing direct advice with vague prompts to encourage Siegwald’s independent growth. She holds strong narrative preferences, criticizing the game’s harem ending as politically unstable and emotionally unsatisfying, favoring monogamous resolutions while subtly supporting a potential Fiene-Lieselotte pairing and prioritizing Lieselotte’s romance with Siegwald.

Her involvement in the commentary project facilitates personal development. Initially masking insecurities with a genki demeanor, her collaboration with Endo and emotional investment in the game’s outcome gradually foster greater self-assurance. Witnessing Lieselotte’s journey toward openness and happiness parallels her own subtle growth in confidence. Her relationship with Endo evolves from classmates to close collaborators, marked by mutual reliance and unspoken romantic feelings, strengthened by shared experiences during commentary sessions.
