Description
Loretta Cristiano Amodio is a central figure in the crime-ridden city of Ergastulum as the head of the Cristiano Family, one of the three great powers that control the city. She is the daughter of the former boss, Luca Cristiano, and inherited the leadership of the family after his death. Though only fourteen years old, she commands the respect of her subordinates and operates from a club and brothel called Bastard, which serves as her base of operations. Her primary responsibility is overseeing the distribution of Celebrer, the drug that is necessary for the survival of the Twilights, the superhuman beings who are a vital part of the city's ecosystem. This role places her at the center of the delicate balance between the criminal families and the Twilight community.
Her personality is a blend of maturity and youthful contradictions. As the family head, she is calm, professional, and stubborn under pressure, refusing to be intimidated even when the Cristiano family suffers losses or is threatened by more powerful factions. She takes her duties extremely seriously and is driven by a fierce loyalty to her people and a deep commitment to protecting the Twilights, whom she views as her responsibility. However, when she is not acting in her official capacity, she shows behavior more typical of a girl her age. She becomes flustered and temperamental if someone calls her a child, and she maintains an informal, affectionate manner with her family members. She often accompanies her orders with childish gestures, such as flicking a subordinate's forehead or calling them affectionate nicknames like "big brother."
Loretta's motivations stem from her desire to uphold her father's legacy and to ensure the safety and stability of both her family and the Twilights under her care. She is acutely aware of the political and physical dangers surrounding her position, and she makes difficult decisions for the sake of the family, even when they involve personal cost. She is not afraid to lift protection from former members if they leave the family, placing the organization's survival above individual attachments.
Her key relationships include her two loyal bodyguards, Marco Adriano and Galahad Woehur, who are constantly at her side. Marco, a former Hunter who once slaughtered Twilights, is her most trusted adviser and a calming influence. She also interacts with other major players in Ergastulum, such as Uranos Corsica of the Corsica family, with whom she frequently clashes over their differing views on Twilights. She maintains a professional and occasionally friendly relationship with the Handymen, Worick Arcangelo and Nicolas Brown, as they sometimes act on the family's behalf.
Loretta's character development is defined by her forced maturation in a hostile environment. After her father's death, she had to step into a role that many adults would find daunting. As the city's fragile peace erodes and anti-Twilight factions launch attacks, her arc focuses on maintaining her leadership, protecting her people, and navigating a crisis that threatens the very structure of Ergastulum. While her youth initially makes her seem vulnerable, she consistently proves her resilience and sharp intellect.
She possesses no supernatural abilities; instead, her strength lies in her strategic mind, her authority as a family boss, and her willingness to use political and occasionally violent means to achieve her goals. She always carries a gun for protection when her bodyguards are not present. Her most notable capability is her ability to command loyalty and respect from hardened criminals and Twilights alike, managing the volatile politics of the city despite her age.
