Description
Nasu is an anthropomorphic eggplant and one of the main characters of BAR Kiraware Yasai. As a vegetable that is often avoided by people because of its dark color and spongy texture, Nasu is acutely aware of his unpopularity. This awareness shapes his outlook, making him a consistently pessimistic and self-deprecating patron of the bar. He frequents the establishment to share his frustrations and worries over drinks, finding common ground with other similarly disliked vegetables. In the series, Nasu serves as a frequent participant in the bar’s conversations, voicing the grievances common to vegetables that are shunned by children and adults alike. His key relationships are with the other regulars—Bitter Gourd, Celery, Parsley, Tomato—and with the Master who runs the bar. Through these interactions, Nasu gradually moves from isolated negativity toward a sense of camaraderie, though he never fully sheds his ingrained insecurity. He is depicted as a middle‑aged male figure with black hair and black eyes, and his physical appearance mirrors that of an ordinary eggplant. Nasu does not possess any special abilities; his role is grounded in his emotional journey and his contribution to the bar’s group dynamic.
