Description
Yomogi Asanaka, a high school freshman, experiences a life-altering encounter with the self-proclaimed Kaiju User, Gauma. Following his parents' divorce in third grade, which resulted in his surname change, he maintains a good relationship with his biological father. This background fuels his drive for independence, making him somewhat workaholic yet sociable with peers.

On his way to school, Yomogi observes Yume Minami sitting atop a floodgate and later hears rumors about her habit of breaking promises. While heading to work, he discovers Gauma collapsed under a bridge and shares his food with him. When Gauma attempts to repay him the next day, his appearance frightens Yomogi, causing him to flee. During this escape, he briefly meets Yume and agrees to meet her later, though she never arrives. Gauma later confronts Yume over this broken promise, drawing Yomogi into a conflict where the kaiju Shalbandes attacks the city. Gauma summons Dynazenon, which absorbs Yomogi, Yume, Koyomi Yamanaka, and himself as pilots.

Initially reluctant in his role as a Dynasoldier pilot, Yomogi skips training to prioritize work. This lack of preparation hinders him in early battles, forcing improvisation and reliance on Yume's assistance. Through these experiences and conversations with Yume, he gradually develops a sense of duty. Learning about Yume’s emotional struggles stemming from her sister Kano’s death – potentially linked to bullying and suicide – Yomogi supports her through depression and aids her investigation into Kano’s past. This empathy reinforces his commitment to protecting the city alongside his teammates.

Yomogi discovers an innate ability called Instance Domination, allowing connection with kaiju. During a confrontation with Zaiohn, he successfully uses this ability after he and his friends mimic Gauma’s techniques, though his limited training restricts control. He later resists the psychological influence of the kaiju Garnix, demonstrating growing emotional resilience. In the battle against Gagula, he employs Instance Domination to weaken the kaiju, creating an opening for his team. Inside Gagula, he rejects Sizumu’s philosophy of abandoning human bonds for freedom, affirming his choice to live normally with valued connections. This act leaves an "S"-shaped scar on his hand, matching similar marks on his teammates.

Three months after defeating Gagula and the Kaiju Eugenicists, Yomogi briefly senses Gauma’s presence near a bridge before dismissing it. He attends a school festival dressed as a mummy while Yume wears a princess costume, signifying their continued closeness. Their relationship deepens, culminating in a romantic confession interrupted by Sizumu’s ambush.

During later interdimensional disruptions, Yomogi and his friends are transported to another world, reuniting with Gauma. They assist Yuta Hibiki and his allies against kaiju attacks and during a school festival play. Yomogi helps Yuta navigate his feelings for Rikka Takarada, acting as a supportive confidant. In the climactic battle against Mad Origin, Yomogi pilots Dynasoldier alongside his team and the Gridman Alliance. His Instance Domination proves vital in coordinating the combined mecha Kaiser Gridknight. After the conflict resolves, he returns to his original dimension.

Physically, Yomogi has dark blue hair styled to ear length, secured by two neon green hair clips on the right side. His eyes are amber with purple pupils, a color choice reflecting his November birthstone (yellow-orange topaz). He typically wears a light blue hoodie under a black gakuran jacket, dark grey-blue pants, and white-grey sneakers featuring green lightning bolts. He stands 160 cm tall, weighs 51 kg, and enjoys basketball.
