Description
Kuniko Shigyo is a Best, an individual with extraordinary combat abilities, hired by the Higashimurayama prefecture to represent it in territorial disputes. She leads the local vigilante group known as the Kita-Tama Dangers. From childhood, she idolized heroes, but upon realizing that real heroes did not exist, she resolved to become one herself through rigorous training, determined to protect others from evildoers. Her legendary reputation stems from the Great Tokyo War, during which she emerged as a warrior who faced vigilante corps from across the divided nation single-handedly, earning the nickname the Empress of Weapons for her peerless skill with an extensive arsenal.
Personality-wise, Kuniko is assertive, commanding, and deeply confident. She harbors an intense love for battle and has grown to relish the thrill of pitting herself against strong opponents. Despite her fearsome exterior, she demonstrates loyalty and trust toward those she relies on, particularly her subordinate Yukari Otonashi, who holds her in great admiration.
Kuniko's initial role in the story is as the rival of Masami Utoku, also known as Maccha Green of Tokorozawa. Their ferocious battle in the first episode results in both combatants being hospitalized. This clash sets the central journey in motion, prompting the Rest Nozomi Moritomo to travel Japan in Masami's stead. Later, Kuniko and Masami temporarily set aside their rivalry, joining forces to assist Nozomi and her friends when the conflict between Hiroshima and Okayama escalates and the mystery of the Moonlight Stones threatens the region. This shift shows Kuniko's capacity for putting shared goals above personal grudges.
In terms of abilities, Kuniko possesses extraordinary martial prowess and weapon mastery that justify her moniker. She fights with a variety of arms, seamlessly switching between techniques, and she once came into possession of a mysterious stone, which may further amplify her formidable power. Her background as a combatant who routinely faced entire factions during the Great Tokyo War underscores both her strategic acumen and her indomitable will.
