Description
Michiru Hyōdō is the cousin of Tomoya Aki, born on the same day and in the same hospital as him. As a result, they share an unusually close bond that has lasted since infancy. She is a tall, athletic girl with short wavy purple hair and a lively demeanor, attending the all-girls Tsubakihime High School in a neighboring prefecture. Michiru is defined by her passionate, impulsive nature. She is bright, outgoing, and straightforward, rarely hesitating to speak her mind or act on her instincts. However, she also has a short attention span and has tried numerous clubs and activities—volleyball, drama, basketball—before finally committing to music. Her true passion is her band, Icy Tail, where she serves as both guitarist and vocalist, and she dedicates herself to live performances with great energy.

Initially, Michiru holds a prejudice against otaku culture and is unhappy about Tomoya’s hobbies, even trying to steer him away by throwing away his figurines. However, when he recruits her to compose music for his visual novel project, Blessing Software, she initially refuses but relents after seeing the project’s dire situation. She becomes the music composer under the name Mitchie, contributing original songs that add emotional depth to the game. Despite her dislike for otaku culture, she gradually accepts her bandmates and team members, who are themselves otaku, and learns to collaborate across different creative fields.

Michiru’s personality is unrestrained and physically playful. She often engages in roughhousing with Tomoya, such as applying wrestling moves, and is completely comfortable with close physical contact, viewing it as cousinly familiarity. She calls Tomoya “Tomo” and is blunt with him, yet she also shows a protective, caring side. For example, when her parents oppose her band activities, she runs away from home and takes refuge at Tomoya’s house. She is not academically inclined, often earning poor grades, but she is otherwise versatile and considered a natural talent, especially in music and sports. Her motivations center on her band and the freedom to express herself through performance. Over time, her role in the story evolves from an outsider who dislikes otaku to a key contributor whose musical abilities help complete Blessing Software’s game. She maintains a friendly, respectful dynamic with the other heroines, though she is less involved in the romantic tension surrounding Tomoya. Michiru’s notable abilities include a powerful singing voice, skilled guitar playing, and a knack for composing catchy melodies that capture raw emotion. She is also physically strong and agile, traits that complement her energetic personality.
