Description
Ran Mochizuki is a supporting character in the anime Bonjour Sweet Love Patisserie, which takes place at the elite Fleurir Confectionery Academy. She is a teenage girl of Japanese nationality with light brown hair and cyan or blue-green eyes. Her given name, Ran, means orchid.

Her most defining trait is her cheerful, talkative, and friendly personality. She has an informal manner, makes friends easily, and enjoys socializing, with a lighthearted interest in boys. She is also very fond of food and can be gluttonous, sometimes to an excessive degree. Beneath her carefree surface, she is caring, confident, and unafraid to stand up to others when the situation calls for it. Her loyalty is especially strong toward her best friend, Sayuri Haruno. When Sayuri faces hardship or unfair treatment, Ran is quick to step forward and defend her, offering fierce support and heartfelt encouragement. Within the story, she serves as both comic relief and a source of emotional support for the protagonist.

Ran is a student at the academy and Sayuri's closest friend there. She is present from their very first day, when her casual mention of Sayuri's scholarship is overheard by the student Tsubaki Sannomiya, leading to a confrontation. Ran gets into an argument with the other girls in Sayuri's defense, showing her willingness to protect her friend immediately. Throughout the series, she shares many everyday school experiences with Sayuri, including the beach training camp, a snowball fight, a New Year shrine visit, and badminton games against the teachers. She also receives Valentine's Day chocolates from Sayuri and offers practical observations about school life, such as noting that the headmistress seems to be keeping a close eye on Sayuri.

Her motivations are not explored in great depth, but her love of sweets and her devotion to her friend are the traits that most shape her actions. She does not undergo a major personal transformation; her role is that of a steady and loyal companion who remains consistently supportive throughout the school year. In terms of notable abilities, no specialized pastry skill is highlighted for her. Her standout strengths are social, including her ease in making friends, her confidence in confrontations, and her enthusiasm for the desserts and confections being made around her.
