Description
Akari Acura is an orphan who was taken in by the Acura family as a young child and raised alongside her adoptive brother, Toru Acura. She trained as a saboteur in their village, but after the fall of the Gaz Empire and the end of the war, the village disbanded, leaving the pair homeless. They settled in Delsolant, where Akari became their primary source of income through guild odd jobs while Toru remained idle. Her patience wore thin, and she eventually forced him to find work or face drastic consequences. Their situation changed when they met Chaika Trabant, a silver-haired wizard carrying a coffin, who hired them to collect the scattered remains of Emperor Arthur Gaz. Akari initially had concerns about the mission but joined Toru in accompanying Chaika. She has a tall, athletic build, thick green hair styled in a bulbous ponytail, and blue eyes. Her typical attire includes a pink mini skirt, a shoulderless top with a low neckline, matching stockings, white knee-length boots, and a yellow knife holder. She is rarely without her comblade sledgehammer, which has a retractable handle and a spiked head. Akari maintains a polite, emotionless facade, speaking in a deathly serious monotone, though internally she experiences vivid and often perverse imaginations, particularly concerning Toru. She is deeply and obsessively devoted to him, showing jealousy toward other women who interact with him and frequently misinterpreting situations to jump to exaggerated conclusions. Despite this, she enforces boundaries and refuses to tolerate his laziness. Outside her fixation on her brother, she is capable of rational decisions and compassionate interactions. Initially distrustful of Chaika due to jealousy, Akari gradually develops genuine care and protectiveness, treating her as a dear friend. As a saboteur, she excels in close-range combat with her hammer, inflicting heavy damage through brute force, and is skilled in acrobatics, stealth, and reconnaissance. Her secondary arsenal includes throwing knives, explosive kunai, poisoned needles, and smokebombs. She can use the Iron-Blood Transformation, a technique that greatly increases her physical abilities and combat skills through extreme mental concentration; her hair turns red, and thin crimson markings appear on her face. This transformation optimizes her reflexes and strength but increases vulnerability to poisons, and its high energy demands restrict its use. Over the course of the story, she is subjected to magical hypnosis and brainwashing by the antagonist Grad Lancia, forcing her to hunt down Toru against her will; she remains conscious of her actions but is unable to defy the compulsion, retaining her memories afterward. Her loyalty to Toru and commitment to Chaika’s mission remain unwavering, even when encountering other Chaika clones challenging their goals.
