Description
Gizaemon, often affectionately called Giza, is a portly cat who serves as a recognizable presence within the Library Club at Shiomi Academy. Despite being an animal, Gizaemon is treated as an unofficial member of the club, spending most of his time lounging or sleeping in the clubroom. His physical appearance is that of a heavyset feline, and his calm, sedentary nature makes him a fitting mascot for the group.

Beneath his lazy exterior, Gizaemon exhibits a surprisingly sharp intelligence. He appears to be fully aware of the conversations and dynamics happening around him, showing a keen understanding of his surroundings that goes beyond typical animal behavior. He is generally amicable and gets along well with the main members of the club, including Kyotaro Kakei, Senri Misono, and Ikkei Takamine. However, his personality also carries a notably mischievous and perverted streak. He has been observed making teasing observations about the physical traits of the female characters, such as commenting on Kana Suzuki's figure and showing a particular interest in the more well-endowed Nagi Kodachi.

Gizaemon's primary role in the story is that of a quirky fixture within the Library Club's daily life. He contributes to the lighthearted and occasionally eccentric atmosphere of the group. His origins are something of a mystery, as even the club members do not know how he first came to reside in their clubroom; it is speculated that he may be a stray who simply found his way to the school and decided to stay. While he does not drive the central plot, his actions provide comic relief and his unusual behavior often adds a layer of unexpected commentary to events.

Throughout the anime, Gizaemon does not undergo a significant personal development arc, remaining a consistent source of humor and enigmatic charm. His most notable ability is his vocalization. Unlike a typical cat, he is given distinct, human-like speaking lines, delivering his observations and commentary directly to the audience and the other characters. This ability to speak, combined with his habit of striking manly poses for pictures and basking in the attention he receives, makes him one of the more unique and memorable characters in the series.
