Description
Mephisto II, also known as Mephisto the Second, is the son of the original Mephisto. He serves as the first of Shingo Umoregi's Twelve Apostles within the *Akuma-kun* franchise. His appearance is that of a humanoid demon with fair skin, a curved mouth, and a small horn hidden beneath a black top hat. He wears a black suit, a red bow tie, white gloves, and a black cape lined in red. He is frequently seen holding a silver scepter topped with a blue crystal ball, standing roughly the same height as Shingo and Hyakume Child.

Mephisto II exhibits a cautious nature regarding his demonic heritage, fearing a loss of humanity should his full powers manifest. This leads him to impose self-restraints. This internal conflict proves pivotal, such as during a confrontation with the angel Strophaia. To protect allies, Mephisto II accesses his full demonic power, resulting in a monstrous transformation. He directs Ichiro Umoregi beforehand to end his life should he lose control, a directive Ichiro fulfills using a demon-killing gun. Mephisto II is restored following Strophaia's defeat and the transformation's reversal.

His primary tool is a magical scepter enabling spellcasting, including levitation. He first demonstrates this ability on Shingo Umoregi during their initial encounter, reflecting inherent distrust. Mephisto II shares a close, protective bond with Ichiro, whom he considers a best friend; his sacrificial actions underscore this relationship.

Mephisto III is the son of Mephisto II, a half-human, half-demon entity who assists Ichiro Umoregi. He inherits his father's appearance, wearing a black suit, shoes, and a top hat with a purple band, along with a maroon-lined black mantle and white gloves. A small horn protrudes from his head, elongating when he employs his powers. His half-human lineage imposes inherent restraints on his demonic abilities compared to full demons.

Contrasting Ichiro's detached and logical demeanor, Mephisto III displays warmth, empathy, and social grace. He frequently corrects Ichiro's breaches of etiquette and maintains courteous client interactions. Together, they co-manage the Millenarianism Research Institute, investigating supernatural cases. Mephisto III wields a magical wand analogous to his father's scepter for combat and problem-solving, often employing it with dramatic flair.

His steadfast loyalty centers on aiding Ichiro, demonstrated in perilous situations like rescuing Shingo Umoregi from Strophaia's confinement. While he collaborates with allies such as the demon Gremory, his primary focus remains supporting Ichiro's missions. His equipment includes this wand, used for spellcasting and tactical support during investigations.

The father-son dynamic shapes their distinct approaches to humanity: Mephisto II grapples with suppressing his demonic nature, while Mephisto III embraces his human half, embodying empathy and social cohesion. Both prioritize their key partnerships—Mephisto II with Shingo and Ichiro, Mephisto III exclusively with Ichiro—highlighting recurring themes of loyalty and sacrifice across generations.
