Description
Hana Saryu is a primary character in the anime series Ai Tenchi Muyo! and holds the position of Vice-President of the Junai Academy Student Council, though some sources also refer to her role as the council's accountant or treasurer. Her character draws a very loose inspiration from the popular Japanese folktale Momotarō, where she represents the monkey, one of three animal companions who join the hero to fight monsters afflicting their village. This folkloric connection is further reinforced when Tenchi Masaki travels to the past and encounters her doppelganger from hundreds of years prior, a person named Sasa Morihiko.
