TV-Series
Description
Noel is the main heroine of the anime Celestial Method, a mysterious blue-haired girl with very long blue hair and blue eyes. She has a youthful appearance that resembles a lower elementary school student, and she is often described as innocent, bright, and kind-hearted, though she can also show an erratic side. Her personality is consistently optimistic regardless of the situation, and she approaches everything with a genuine love for the world around her. Despite her cheerful demeanor, Noel is somewhat clueless about human social norms and can come across as naive or unworldly.
Seven years before the main events of the story, Noel first met Nonoka Komiya at a laboratory when Nonoka and her friends attempted to summon a flying saucer to grant their wishes. It is eventually revealed that Noel is not a separate entity but the saucer itself, having taken on a human form after being called down by the children. When Nonoka returns to Lake Kiriya City after a seven-year absence, Noel reunites with her and promises to fulfill her wishes, patiently waiting for her return at the observatory all those years. Her primary motivation is to grant the wishes of Nonoka and her childhood friends, as that is the purpose for which she was summoned.
In the story, Noel serves as both the mysterious catalyst for the series events and the emotional anchor that draws the fractured group of friends back together. She reconnects with Nonoka first, then gradually interacts with the other former friends: Koharu Shiihara, Shione Togawa, Yuzuki Mizusaka, and Souta Mizusaka. Her relationship with Nonoka is the deepest and most central bond, as Nonoka was the first to meet her and the one who originally suggested summoning the saucer. Noel considers Shione a friend, which gently surprises Shione when she hears it, and she helps Yuzuki see the emotional significance behind Nonoka's efforts to reunite the group. Her interactions with Koharu and Souta are more supportive in nature, often helping them understand the feelings of others.
Throughout the series, Noel shows development in her understanding of human emotions and relationships. Though she exists to grant wishes, she also learns about friendship, hurt, forgiveness, and the complexity of human connections. Her notable abilities include being able to manifest and control the flying saucer that hovers over the city. She uses this power to project a fireworks display to help mend the friendships, and she can influence the saucer's presence and actions in the physical world. However, she does not force outcomes; instead, she waits for the characters to express their true desires and then helps facilitate those wishes in her own way. Her presence drives the central mystery of the series and ultimately leads the characters toward reconciliation and understanding.
