Description
Elizavetta Fomina, often called Liza, is one of the seven Vanadis of the kingdom of Zhcted, ruling over the territory of Lebus. She is known throughout the land for her remarkable beauty and her distinctive heterochromatic eyes, which she has had since birth. Her left eye is gold while her right eye is a sapphire blue, a striking feature often referred to as her Rainbow Eyes. She possesses long, curly crimson-pink hair and typically dresses in a purple regal outfit that reflects her status and personal taste.

Liza's background is a fundamental part of her character. She was born as an illegitimate child to a corrupt aristocrat named Rodion Abt. Due to the superstitions surrounding her unusual eye color, which was considered a cursed bad omen, she was abandoned and sent to live in a remote village slum. There, she was scorned and cruelly bullied by other children who called her a freak. The most significant event of her childhood occurred when she was rescued from these bullies by Eleonora Viltara, who was then a mercenary. Elen taught Liza to fight for four days, leaving a profound impression on the young girl. Liza swore to show her the results of her training, but when they met again years later, Elen had completely forgotten about her and their time together. This perceived abandonment was the seed for a deep and lasting animosity.

Despite this painful history, Liza is not defined solely by her rivalry. While she is known for being one of the most hot-headed, ambitious, and ferocious among the Vanadis, she also has a more complex interior life. Her drive to become the strongest Vanadis is immense, and she will stop at nothing to surpass her rival, Elen. Her reputation often paints her as merciless and calculating, a warlord who takes no prisoners. However, this harsh exterior masks a more vulnerable and lonely individual who deeply desires acceptance and affection. She cares genuinely for the people of Lebus, who respect her as a benevolent ruler and a capable leader who fights in their name. Her old and trusted general, Naum, serves as her voice of reason and a parental figure, one of the few who can calm her when her infamous temper flares.

Her motivations are heavily driven by her resentment toward Eleonora. The initial need for acknowledgment twisted into an obsession to prove herself superior, especially after Elen was forced to kill Liza's corrupt father. This event only deepened her grudge, and she has challenged Elen to numerous duels, losing each time. Her desire to surpass the Silver Wind Vanadis leads her to make questionable decisions, including forming secret alliances with enemy forces to test her strength and even confronting a more veteran Vanadis, Alexandra Alshavin, to draw Elen's attention. Her role in the story often positions her as an anti-heroine, a powerful force whose actions are frequently opposing but also influenced by the main characters.

Liza's key relationships are central to her development. Her eternal rivalry with Eleonora Viltara is the axis around which much of her life turns, characterized by intense envy, a desperate need for recognition, and grudging respect. Her relationship with Tigrevurmud Vorn, the protagonist, is another major turning point. Initially, she is hostile toward him, but after he loses his memory and washes ashore in Lebus under the alias Urz, she becomes his benefactor. She is astounded by his incredible archery skills and, more importantly, by his honesty. Unlike those who offer her empty flattery out of fear, Tigre speaks his mind and treats her without prejudice, even protecting her from bullying. This makes her highly possessive of him, and she becomes reluctant to let him go after his memory returns. Beneath her composed exterior, she is also capable of deep respect and sorrow, as shown by her devastation over the death of Alexandra Alshavin, a Vanadis she often clashed with but genuinely admired.

As a Vanadis, Elizavetta possesses formidable abilities. Her primary weapon is the Viralt known as Valitsaif, which is attuned to the element of lightning. With it, she can summon and manipulate electricity at will, using it to stun or shock her enemies with powerful bolts. Her weapon is capable of changing shape, often appearing as an iron rod or a multiple-tailed whip. Beyond her magical prowess, she possesses superhuman reflexes, making her an extremely agile and nimble combatant capable of dodging enemy attacks with ease. Throughout the series, her intense rivalry forces her into a cycle of conflict and introspection, leading to a reluctant, temporary truce and a gradual softening of her hostility as her personal motivations become more intertwined with the larger political struggles of the world.
