Description
Chiyori is a young girl who first appears as a minor character in the first season before becoming a recurring presence in the second season. She is small in stature and wears distinctive pink winter clothing, with her mittens and twin tails both featuring a skull design that gives her a unique and somewhat rebellious look.

Before becoming involved with WIXOSS, Chiyori had a very different personality. She was once a modest, quiet child who wore a regular school uniform and glasses, and she tended to be rather calm and reserved. This all changed when she acquired her LRIG, Eldora. Upon unboxing the deck and discovering that the card could talk, she was not frightened but instead called Eldora cute, and over time she began to emulate her LRIG’s style. She adopted a louder, more energetic demeanor and started dressing in clothing reminiscent of Eldora, complete with skull motifs.

Chiyori is a huge fan of the WIXOSS novels written by Fumio Futase and is deeply immersed in their contents. She carries the novel with her as if it were a manual and wishes to emulate the main character, going so far as to express a desire to become an LRIG herself, just like the character in the story. Her worldview is heavily shaped by this fictional account, and she initially believes she understands the rules and risks of being a Selector based on what she has read. In reality, she is a complete beginner in terms of game skills, and her understanding of the true stakes is dangerously naive. She has a very short attention span when warned about the dark consequences of Selector battles, failing to take the risks to heart, and tends to be quite loud, often becoming the center of attention when talking to Eldora in public.

Chiyori’s role in the story provides a stark contrast to the more serious and scarred main characters. While others treat WIXOSS as a dark and dangerous reality, she approaches it like a fantasy adventure or a fun game. Her enthusiasm is relentless, and even after being told the truth about the brutal consequences of three losses including the reversal of one’s wish and the body-swapping with LRIGs she bounces back quickly, declaring that it does not matter because she still wants to enter the world of WIXOSS.

Her most significant relationship is with her LRIG, Eldora. Together, they form a comedic duo with a slapstick way of talking to each other, bickering like close friends. Chiyori is extremely attached to Eldora, and when she faces a difficult battle, she cries at the thought of losing and being separated from her. Eldora, in turn, cares deeply for Chiyori and does not want her to suffer the pain that other Selectors have endured.

Chiyori undergoes notable development as the truth of the WIXOSS world becomes impossible to ignore. When she and her friends visit the apartment of her favorite author, Fumio Futase, she witnesses the author snap under the pressure of her own traumatic experiences with WIXOSS. This encounter frightens Chiyori and shatters her idealistic fantasy. Later, as she continues to battle, her naive enthusiasm gives way to a more serious understanding of what is at stake. In a crucial battle against Hitoe, Eldora reveals that she deliberately allowed the match to happen to protect Chiyori, wanting the other girls to remain her friends and for Chiyori to stay a carefree human who never has to suffer. Despite Chiyori’s desperate pleas and her refusal to accept defeat because it would mean parting with Eldora, she is ultimately overwhelmed in the battle.

As a Selector, Chiyori’s notable abilities are more a reflection of her personality than any remarkable skill. She is a novice player with little tactical experience. Her approach to battle is characterized by her loud declarations and nonsense attack names, such as Chiyori Moonlight Chorizo. Her deck is a Blue Request deck featuring her LRIG, Eldora, and her strategy often revolves around using cards like Restoration and Reinforcement to keep her Life Cloth high in an attempt to use powerful arts like Big Bang. However, her plans are often reckless and easily countered by more experienced opponents. After suffering her third loss, Chiyori loses her rights as a Selector and her memories of WIXOSS and Eldora are erased, though the friends she made during her time as a Selector later seek her out to rebuild their friendship.
