TV-Series
Description
Aida Surugan is a central figure in the pirate corps that operates the space vessel Megafauna, initially positioned against the Capital Guard. Her background is marked by a significant dual identity. She was adopted as the daughter of Gusion Surugan, a general from the continent of Ameria, and grew up believing this to be her origin. However, she is later revealed to be a biological member of the Rayhunton family, making her the sister of Bellri Zenam, the young man who would become her primary ally and pilot of the G-Self mobile suit. This heritage is key, as she is one of only three people who can activate the G-Self due to the Rayhunton Code installed in its cockpit. Before this discovery, she joined the Pirate Corps and took on the alias Aida Rayhunton, a name that hints at her true lineage before she fully understands it herself.

In terms of personality, Aida is defined by a combination of fierce conviction and notable vulnerability. She holds very strong ideals and beliefs, which drive her actions throughout the conflict. However, she is also highly emotional and has a pronounced tendency to blame herself when plans fail or when her actions lead to unintended consequences. This emotional nature often manifests as recklessness; she frequently places herself in harm's way and acts without fully thinking through the tactical situation. This impulsiveness is a source of friction with her more level-headed comrades early on. Despite these traits, she demonstrates a deep respect for human life, and her character arc involves learning to temper her rashness and work more cohesively within a team. A more personal and lighter aspect of her character is a known enjoyment of dancing.

Aida's motivations are closely tied to her beliefs and her relationships. Initially, she is driven by the goals of Ameria and the Pirate Corps, opposing the Capital Guard and its control over the energy supplied by the Capital Tower. However, as the story progresses and she learns more about the true nature of the world's conflicts, she becomes disillusioned with the official narratives. This leads her to break away from direct Amerian command, seeking to fight for a genuine peace on her own terms alongside the crew of the Megafauna. Her actions are also deeply personal, particularly her grief over the death of Cahill Saint, a fellow pirate and her lover. His death at the hands of Bellri, before either knew their true connection, is a traumatic event that fuels much of her early anger and emotional turmoil.

Her role in the story is that of a catalyst and a co-lead. She is the initial pilot of the G-Self, and her capture and subsequent interactions with Bellri Zenam set the main plot in motion. As the series progresses, she becomes the primary pilot of the MSAM-033 Gundam G-Arcane, a transformable mobile suit designed for support fire. In this role, she often stays close to the Megafauna, using the G-Arcane's powerful anti-ship rifle to provide cover for her allies rather than engaging in front-line melee combat. Following the death of her adoptive father, General Gusion Surugan, she is reluctantly thrust into a position of command, taking over the fleet and exercising authority to bring an end to the final battles.

Key relationships define her journey. Her bond with Bellri Zenam is the most complex, beginning with mutual hostility after Cahill's death, evolving into reluctant partnership, and finally solidifying into a strong familial and fighting alliance once they learn they are siblings. Her relationship with her adoptive father, Gusion, is one of genuine affection and gratitude; she thanks him for raising her before asserting her own path. Her memory of Cahill Saint serves as a persistent source of sorrow and motivation. Among the crew, she builds a supportive dynamic with the younger pilots like Noredo Nug and the mysterious Raraiya Monday.

Aida undergoes a notable development from a reckless and emotionally volatile fighter into a more measured and commanding leader. Her journey forces her to confront her own limitations as a pilot, her grief, and the lies of the political powers she once served. She learns to trust her allies, particularly Bellri, and eventually accepts the heavy responsibility of command, proving her growth by prioritizing the safety of survivors and declaring the war's end. Her notable abilities are tied to her lineage; as a Rayhunton, she possesses the genetic key to operate the G-Self. As a pilot, her true strength lies not in close-quarters combat but in tactical support, using the G-Arcane's long-range firepower to great effect, especially when equipped with its Full Dress armor, which she uses to block powerful beam attacks in the final battles.
