Description
Latifah Fullanza is the princess of the magical realm of Maple Land and the general manager of Amagi Brilliant Park, a struggling amusement park that serves as a vital source of magical energy for its fairy inhabitants. She is a young girl with wavy blonde hair, deep blue eyes, and a gentle, elegant appearance, often seen wearing a layered white dress with a small silver tiara. Her demeanor is consistently cheerful and warm; she is almost always smiling and carries herself with a quiet grace. Despite her outward kindness, Latifah possesses a strong inner resolve and is deeply passionate about the park’s survival, willing to go to great lengths to protect it—including using her magical abilities without hesitation.

Her primary motivation stems from a curse placed upon her by a wizard long ago. The curse causes a severe deficiency in Animus, the life force that sustains her kind, and also resets her memory and physical growth each year, trapping her in a perpetual fourteen-year-old state. To survive, she requires a constant supply of Animus generated by the genuine enjoyment of park visitors. This makes the park’s continued operation not just a matter of business but a matter of life and death for her. The curse also affects her sight; in the original novels she is blind, though the anime adaptation presents her with normal vision. In compensation, she has developed heightened senses of hearing, smell, and intuition.

Latifah plays a central role in the story as the symbolic heart of the park. She hires the protagonist, Seiya Kanie, as deputy manager to rebuild the failing business, but she remains the ultimate authority and the emotional anchor for the staff. Her presence gives purpose and meaning to the park’s redevelopment efforts. She forms key relationships with several characters: Isuzu Sento serves as her loyal knight and closest attendant, while Moffle, one of the park’s mascots, is her uncle and protector. With Seiya, she develops a nuanced bond—she trusts him implicitly with the park’s future and gradually harbors romantic feelings for him, though her curse and memory resets complicate this connection.

Over the course of the series, Latifah’s character experiences limited outward development due to the annual memory reset, but the narrative explores the weight of her condition and the importance of the bonds that persist despite it. She takes an active role behind the scenes, such as personally preparing the park’s popular croquettes in her castle kitchen, and she occasionally participates in events when needed. Her notable abilities include her royal magic, which she can bestow upon a human by kissing them—granting a unique, temporary power that varies with each recipient. The full extent of her magical influence remains unexplored, but it is significant enough to be a key plot device. Overall, Latifah Fullanza is a gentle but determined princess whose existence binds the park’s fate to her own, making her both a figure of inspiration and a poignant symbol of the stakes involved.
