TV-Series
Description
Eva Frost is a German member of the Annex Project, holding the Mars ranking of 100, which places her as the weakest-ranked participant on the expedition. She is a young woman, eighteen years old, with long blonde hair and green eyes. Her background is one of extreme isolation; she is the only child of an IT millionaire and grew up in the suburbs of northern Germany. Her parents were controlling, overprotective hypochondriacs who rarely allowed her to leave the family estate. This sheltered life came to an end when her family lost their fortune and, in a desperate act, sold her to U-NASA. She was then forced to undergo the M.O. Operation, a genetic modification procedure that would allow her to survive and fight on Mars.
In terms of personality, Eva is initially portrayed as good-hearted, naive, and clumsy. She is highly emotional and insecure, often succumbing to panic and tears in the face of danger. Despite this apparent weakness and her low combat ranking, she possesses an underlying reservoir of courage and fierce determination, which surfaces during critical moments when she must overcome her fears. Her primary motivation for joining the deadly Annex Project is to find a cure for the A.E. virus, a lethal disease afflicting Earth.
Eva is a member of the German Division and is under the tutelage of Adolf Reinhard, a powerful and respected leader. Her relationship with Adolf is central to her story, as he serves as her protector and mentor. During a fatal encounter with the Terraformars, Adolf sacrifices himself to shield Eva from an attack, causing his implanted explosives to detonate. Eva survives this explosion due to her unique abilities, but Adolf is killed. In a pivotal moment of development, while her body is regenerating from the blast, she absorbs fragments of Adolf's remains. This accidental process grants her his abilities based on the electric eel, transforming her from one of the weakest members into a significantly more powerful combatant.
Eva's notable abilities are directly tied to her operations and experiences. Her initial M.O. surgery was based on the planarian flatworm, granting her an extraordinary level of regeneration. She can recover from severe injuries, including regrowing lost limbs or reassembling her entire body after being blown apart. This regeneration is so powerful it can restore her memories even if her brain is destroyed and, under specific conditions, can allow her to duplicate herself. After absorbing Adolf's remains, she gained the abilities of the electric eel. This allows her to generate and manipulate electricity, create an electromagnetic barrier capable of deflecting lasers and projectiles, and sense the electromagnetic waves of living organisms. Unlike Adolf, she lacks natural immunity to her own electricity and must rely on her regeneration to heal from the self-inflicted damage caused by using her power. Following her return to Earth after the Annex I mission, she undergoes an enhanced procedure known as the Chimera Blood Operation. This allows her to temporarily mimic the base abilities of another individual. She can achieve this for approximately four minutes by injecting their blood or for ten seconds by digesting it.
