TV-Series
Description
Kakeru Kazami is one of the central figures in the second generation of the idol group Shounen Hollywood, serving as the primary narrator for the anime series. He is a high school student of seventeen years, later turning eighteen, whose Hollywood color is red.

Kakeru is characterized by his calm, thoughtful, and somewhat introverted nature. With his refreshing short dark hair and composed eyes, he often gives the impression of being passive or not very assertive, frequently described as someone who tends to go with the flow. This lack of assertiveness stems from initially low self-confidence, as he does not see himself as particularly special or talented. Beneath this reserved exterior, however, he possesses a strong sense of observation and a rational mind, often acting as a mediator within the group. Despite being perceived as cold at times, he genuinely cares for his teammates and works to maintain harmony among them.

Before being scouted, Kakeru lived what he considered a perfectly ordinary life, working a part-time job at a convenience store with no grand ambitions for the entertainment industry. This somewhat casual attitude is reflected in his initial approach to idol work, which he viewed as an extension of his club activities. His recruitment came not from a personal desire for fame, but because the president of Hollywood Tokyo saw potential in him as a rough diamond. Although initially confused by this sudden change, Kakeru possesses a flexible and earnest nature that allows him to gradually learn and understand what it means to be an idol.

A significant part of Kakeru's personal storyline involves his struggle with singing. He is notably tone-deaf compared to his fellow members, a fact that causes him great embarrassment and fuels his insecurities. One of his key developmental arcs involves overcoming this embarrassment. In a notable episode, the other members help him become more comfortable with his own voice by agreeing to sing everything they say in public until he feels less self-conscious. This struggle is a core part of his journey, as he works diligently every day to improve his vocal accuracy, trying to find his own definition of an idol rather than just being a packaged product.

In his role within the story, Kakeru often takes the position of an observer and commentator on the events and emotions the group experiences together. His key relationships are built on mutual trust, particularly with the more boisterous and contrasting personality of Ikuma Amaki, the group's leader. He maintains a steady, if sometimes distant, bond with the other members: Kira Saeki, Daiki Tomii, and Shun Maiyama. His humble attitude extends to his relationship with fans, towards whom he feels both nervous and grateful for their expectations. In his personal life, he has a younger sister named Sana, who is often depicted as an annoying presence that nags him about his singing and noise levels at home.
