TV-Series
Description
Nice is the central protagonist of the anime Re:␣Hamatora, a young man who operates as half of the detective duo known as Hamatora alongside his partner Murasaki. He is physically characterized by disheveled auburn hair, blue eyes, pale skin, and a slender build, often appearing relaxed and casually dressed.

He left the elite Facultas Academy for Minimum Holders before completing his senior year, despite being a genius and the top-ranked student. After leaving, he established a small detective agency with his childhood friend Hajime, later moving it to a shared space inside the Cafe Nowhere. His partner Murasaki was originally sent by the academy to bring him back but ultimately chose to join him.

Nice possesses the Sonic Minimum, which allows him to perceive sound as visual information, manipulate sound waves, and move at superhuman speeds within a limited radius of roughly five meters. He relies on a pair of headphones to activate and control this ability effectively. His power makes him a highly agile and perceptive combatant.

In terms of personality, Nice is carefree, impulsive, and sometimes absent-minded, often disregarding personal safety or financial concerns in favor of the excitement of a case. Despite this laid‑back exterior, he possesses exceptional intelligence and sharp analytical skills. He is deeply loyal to his friends and protective of those he cares about, willing to confront dangerous situations to keep them safe. His motivations are driven by a sense of adventure and a desire to help others rather than material gain.

Throughout the series, his role evolves from a lighthearted investigator into someone forced to confront darker moral questions about the nature of Minimum Holders and the society that fears them. He is central to the investigation of the serial killings committed by the former professor Moral, and later becomes embroiled in the conflict with his resurrected friend Art, who seeks to eliminate all Minimums. Nice’s relationships are key to his development: his partnership with Murasaki balances his impulsiveness with Murasaki’s more composed demeanor; his bond with Hajime provides emotional grounding; and his history with Art adds a deeply personal layer to the story’s central conflict.

Over the course of Re:␣Hamatora, Nice experiences significant growth. He moves from a seemingly carefree detective to a figure who must grapple with the consequences of his powers and the ethical implications of the world around him. His ability to maintain his sense of justice while facing betrayal and loss underscores his resilience, and his determination to protect both friends and innocent people drives the narrative forward.
