Description
Femieanne is a character from the anime Aldnoah.Zero, where she serves as a supporting antagonist. She holds the noble title of Countess and is a member of the Orbital Knights, the elite Martian knightly clans that govern the Vers Empire. At 28 years old, Femieanne commands her own Landing Castle, a massive orbital warship, and rules over the territory of Tanegashima, an island on Earth that she claims as her domain following the Martian invasion.

Femieanne possesses a personality defined by extreme pride and aggressive self-confidence. She is a fierce and battle-hungry warrior who looks down upon the people of Earth with undisguised contempt, considering them to be inherently inferior beings. Her speech patterns are notably old-fashioned, and she refers to herself with an archaic, self-aggrandizing manner that reflects her aristocratic upbringing and belief in her own superiority. This haughty demeanor is coupled with a hot-headed and impulsive nature; she prefers to confront her enemies directly rather than rely on tactics or subterfuge. A unique and somewhat eccentric aspect of her personality is her strong emotional attachment to her personal Kataphrakt, the giant combat robot called Hellas. She treats its six detachable arms as prized possessions, giving each one the name of a demon of the rank of Count from the Ars Goetia.

Her primary motivation is rooted in the ideology of the Martian aristocracy, which views the reclaiming of Earth as both a right and a sacred duty. She fights to uphold her honor and status as a Countess, seeking to demonstrate the power of Mars by crushing the Terran forces that dare to intrude upon her territory. Following the declaration of a renewed war against Earth, she eagerly takes to the battlefield to annihilate the approaching Terran assault ship, the Wadatsumi, and defend her assigned landing zone on Tanegashima.

Femieanne's role in the story is that of an early antagonist, serving as the primary obstacle for the protagonist group during their sojourn at Tanegashima. She engages the Earth forces in a protracted battle, attempting to single-handedly destroy the Wadatsumi with the overwhelming firepower of her Kataphrakt. Her defeat is significant, as she becomes the first commander of a Landing Castle to be killed in action during the war, marking a turning point that demonstrates the vulnerability of even the most powerful Martian knights.

Her key relationships are defined almost entirely by combat. She has a direct adversarial relationship with the Earth pilot Inaho Kaizuka, whose coldly analytical mind systematically deconstructs and counters the abilities of her Kataphrakt. She also clashes with Slaine Troyard, a Terran-born servant of the Vers Empire whose unexpected intervention in a Sky Carrier helps turn the tide against her. The final blow is delivered by Rayet Areash, a girl of Martian descent fighting for the Earth, who executes the incapacitated Femieanne with a sniper shot, explicitly citing her hatred for the Martians who caused her family's ruin.

In terms of development, Femieanne has a brief and straightforward arc. She begins as a supremely confident conqueror, reveling in her power and looking down on her foes. As the battle progresses she is forced to acknowledge the unexpected resistance of the Terrans, becoming increasingly desperate and furious as her advantages are stripped away one by one. Her character concludes with her death in battle, a demise that she meets not with repentance, but with a final, futile act of aggression.

Femieanne is notable for her abilities as a pilot of the Hellas Kataphrakt. This machine is distinct for having six arms, each equipped with a powerful rocket punch that can be launched at enemies as a devastating projectile. These fist-shaped projectiles are extremely difficult to destroy and capable of immense destruction. Her main combat strategy involves overwhelming her opponent with a barrage of these guided rocket fists. Furthermore, the Hellas possesses a secondary transformation into a flight mode for high-speed pursuit, and as a last resort, the entire Kataphrakt can be reconfigured into a single massive fist to crush an opponent in a final charge. Despite her tactical reliance on these powerful systems, her downfall is precipitated by a lack of adaptability when her abilities are systematically countered.
