TV-Series
Description
Fukuta Kanemaru is one of the three founding members of the Gappori Company, a small enterprise run by elementary school students that serves as a central group in the series. He is a close companion and classmate of the protagonist, Kaito Goushou, and the more intellectually minded Mitsuo Zaizen. Physically, Fukuta has a distinct and somewhat imposing appearance, often described as having a Frankenstein-esque look.

In terms of personality, Fukuta is characterized as the brawny member of the trio, contrasting with Mitsuo's role as the brains of the operation. He is notably strong, and his straightforward, action-oriented nature often serves as a physical balance to the group's dynamic. A very distinctive trait is his verbal tic; he frequently ends his sentences with a phrase that is translated as though, reflecting a casual and somewhat idiosyncratic way of speaking.

Fukuta's role in the story is primarily as a loyal and reliable friend and teammate. He, along with Kaito and Mitsuo, forms the core of the Gappori Company, and they work together to help Kaito pay off a massive debt incurred by renting a powerful hero suit. He participates in Hero Battles, the digital combat game that is central to the series, using his own unique hero suit known as Tea Picking Cat. Beyond battles, he assists the group in various moneymaking schemes, such as helping his relatives pick tea leaves in Fuji.

One of the most unique aspects of Fukuta Kanemaru is his relationship with his pet mouse, Platina. Platina possesses the ability to predict the future, a skill that Fukuta is uniquely able to interpret and translate for others. This ability makes Fukuta the prophecy chief of the Gappori Company, and the team comes to rely on Platina's fortunes for strategic advantages in their matches. This reliance leads to a significant moment of development for Fukuta. Feeling envious of the special treatment that Platina receives for being essential to the team's victories, he gets into an argument with his mouse and attempts to replace its predictions with a purchased fortune-telling machine. His plan fails, but the experience ultimately leads him to reconcile with Platina, learning to appreciate his partner's unique contribution and value.

Throughout the series, Fukuta's key relationships are with his two business partners. He shares a strong camaraderie with the energetic and impulsive Kaito and the analytical Mitsuo. The trio often bickers but consistently supports each other. In more serious arcs, his loyalty translates into direct action, such as when he and Mitsuo work to infiltrate an adversary's network to expose corruption and assist Kaito in a critical rematch. Fukuta’s notable abilities include his physical strength, his proficiency with his own hero suit, and his unique skill as the interpreter for Platina’s prophecies, a talent that proves invaluable for foreseeing challenges and opportunities.
